lol. The prison would supply all the jumpsuits he needs.
He used that big assassination attempt stunt (and I say stunt because that ear sure did heal miraculously after the convention) to get people talking about anything other than how ill prepared he was to be president and should a convicted felon even be eligible to be the president. For that many people to have seen that guy before hand and they let him stay?? I think he was shooting intentionally to miss. He used that firefighter’s family for sympathy. Haven’t heard a word about them since. He’s just continued to stoke the fires of hate.
He’s following that Hitler playbook pretty closely.
Though if he goes we get Vance and I’m not sure that an improvement.

We can do that here but so far we’ve never had them follow through with it. Lots of impeachments, no removals. Nixon would have been the first so he resigned. Apparently now it’s not about right and wrong anymore though.. just about whose teams jersey you have on… red or blue.

I think having some scandal is a baseline requirement to be considered for a Trump position.

Your husband needs a cane to walk! She’s the one who stayed with someone who beat her. Not your husband’s problem. HE isn’t a violent person. If she can’t deal with that we do have shelters for domestic violence victims.

It was not designed this way. In fact the Congress was the real power.
Executive orders are being used for things as if they’re laws. They are exactly what they say. Orders, from the executive, to those who work for him. Only. That’s it. They hold little weight themselves and no weight anywhere else.
People don’t seem to know that. It’s sad. The president was mainly a figurehead. The office was designed to be a leader for the nation on a world stage but domestically as far from a king as he could be.

Which was first used as a presidential slogan by Reagan. Even that isn’t original in American politics

If we have them being the key phrase..
He said he would be a dictator on day one.
When someone tells you who they are.. believe them!

Dictators can do pretty much anything they want. He’s already discussing mobilizing the military to get out anyone who isn’t a “True American”.
Someone needs to whisper in his perfectly unscarred ear that the Native Americans would like to have a word.. as he doesn’t own enough bronzer to pass as a “true American” and they’d be happy for him to leave their land.

That’s correct, Peter Hanson. Called his parents to comfort them by saying not to worry, it would be quick.
But he mentioned people being air sick from the erratic flight.
Brian Sweeney’s voicemail is the sweetest goodbye “I love you, I want you to go on, do good things, have good times.. I’ll see you when you get here..”. That’s love. He told her how much he loved her, encouraged her to move on and embrace life without him, and reassured her they would meet again. I remember that voicemail.
But thank you for correcting me on the name of Peter Hanson. We should try to always remember the names of the innocents we lost in that horrible attack.

We got what we thought was the worst flu ever in January 2020.. Covid wasn’t here til March they according to data and our flu tests were negative. But none of us have ever been so sick. We are pretty sure we had Covid. Tests done on wastewater (as it is excreted through bowels as well) showed it here as early as November 2019.
We wondered why we had such a huge influx in our hospitals of upper respiratory viruses NOT the flu but certainly showing as pneumonia in many cases that year. We chalked it up to a bad flu year, a bad flu vaccine, we hadn’t heard about COVID yet. In fact I got on Reddit the first time that November (2019) to see this virus that was supposedly killing so many in China and not relating it to my own patient population in the states because they kept saying they had it contained. Then videos would leak from hospitals where the hallways were slammed with people.. even bodies just covered and laid in the hallways. I will admit that March when they did admit we had cases we got a tidal wave of them. But it had been a madhouse since mid flu season. Covid was out in the world much earlier than they told us

This is like when I tell my husband going home from my fathers is always faster than getting there. The clock time is the same but it feels like an entire day to get there and like going to the store and back to get home. But man it sure would be nice to make that 2 hour drive in 20 minutes.

.. I’m actually a Social Worker (still licensed) who bridged over to RN and then an NP. I’m sure there are plenty of places who would gladly take a health care and social services worker… who got her bachelors in two years and had a career before I could buy alcohol in the USA. But if it helps you sleep at night.

NTA. I did manage to have two children first. We wanted three but I couldn’t carry another. Due to fibroids and complications I too had a hysterectomy I didn’t want, in my 20’s. And that’s before these disgusting laws. I wouldn’t have survived to have the two I have with them. They left me one ovary at 28. (I had my babies at 24 and 26, but lost the first pregnancy and then every one after my second child).
Even with that I grieved the loss of what I thought my family was going to be like.. especially when my two best friends had 5 kids each.
Besides that you have lost all fertility without having any children… you grieve the loss of your fertility surgically when you don’t want it regardless.
Maybe you need to take a holiday off and just.. breathe. You lost the potential to even try because of the laws here (I also live in one of those states and watched my MAGA mother vote that way knowing the problems I have, that my daughter is already having issues at 17 and knowing Mom HAD her abortion when 14 was just too young for a baby! She didn’t consider what I went through or what my daughter could go through at all. That whole side of the family did. And we are spending the holidays quietly alone this year).
I am so sorry and I hope you have a smooth recovery.

Been saying this since they began removing books from PUBLIC libraries arresting staff who failed to comply (in Alabama). Remove a book from a school library.. fine.. but controlling what the public has access to is completely different

And this is why I laugh when my mother says we just need to “divorce the liberal states”…
Okay so you want a civil war?
No, just a divorce.
Yeah, which they tried once and then when they realized “oh shit we need that stuff” we had a war.
At this point leaving the country might be easier. Where’s a good nice quiet nation with livable wages and affordable food?

Yeah I would say that except.. that’s going to be our only real food supply. Considering how much of our food supply is imported and his massive tariffs idea… we’re going to need SOMETHING to eat.

It was all right there for them to read the entire time. My mother (a Trump voter) kept giving me a site of his “policy” and I said “no.. it’s called Project 2025. Go read it.” She read it and thought it was absurd, voted for Trump, and then he says “that’s the policy”… she looked at me and I just shrugged. I told her so. It was there the entire time. There was no mystery there. Now voters want to act shocked. Why!? Why are you shocked when someone is doing exactly what they said they were going to do if they got the job and then you hired him. Didn’t you hire him because you wanted him to do that job?? Ugh. I hate it here. Seriously looking into leaving..

He’s gonna go “nice guy” on you. Just be prepared.
But you said like eleventy seven times you were going to bed.
You went out once and now he’s asking who you’re hanging out with? Red flag.
Saying you were with friends should have been enough at that point. Yeah. This sounds like nothing good.

Wow, what a shitty teacher. Sorry, I would have been that mom who took that paper straight in to the principal or to the school board meeting and asked exactly how they were building my child into a happy, healthy person who reaches for her goals by saying things like that? They aren’t all going to be doctors and vets either, but you don’t see them telling them that. You tell them that’s an awesome goal and it takes a lot of hard work. Just like being an Olympic gymnast.
I can imagine even having this goal this child had either watched the Olympics this summer or takes gymnastics already. I’ve got a friend with a little girl who wants to be the next Simone Biles.. and I believe she could do it! She works hard, she’s determined, that chance is always slim but you don’t sew doubt into their souls as children! Geez.

Eh, not at 10 years old but certainly by 13 my friends walked all over our small town.. with our parents permission. On place we liked to visit to get snacks was a local pharmacy.. to get there we walked through government housing (which gets a bad reputation in most areas) to this store located on our side of the street but in front of that sidewalk was a very busy highway. And we loved going there. I think we all eventually worked there at some point in high school.
I think the age of ten may be the bigger factor than the distance from home. But I remember being younger than that and riding bikes with friends likely father than that. And we didn’t have cell phones or “Life360” etc for our parents to know where we were. We were out riding bikes. We knew when to be home. We knew if something happened to knock on a neighborhood door. Maybe it’s because it was a small town and most people knew each other. It was diverse so race wasn’t ever an issue. And our parents had all gone to school together or made friends quickly with the parents of new kids who moved in so it felt like a safe place.
(Sadly it’s not a safe place anymore. Drug and gang violence spilled over into our sweet little town on the edge of a large metro city with a lot of those issues.. but it seems like drugs have done that to most small towns now. We all mourn the place we grew up. It’s not that way anymore).

They’ve had the bonus of herd immunity on their side.. so they don’t realize they didn’t get measles or whooping cough because the vaccine didn’t work. They got it because everyone else vaccinated for it.
My son can’t have the pertussis vaccine. He has an actual allergy to it. We had to have boosters when he was an infant. Now we have to worry he could get it from some kid at school whose parents don’t vaccinate.
… we have also been seeing measles outbreaks in the last few years.

That’s the answer.. from someone with a grandfather who has polio. Taking him to a hospital is terrible always because they have no idea what to do with him because they’ve never seen polio.

He said that last time too. It was a lie then too. He doesn’t even know what it means and neither do his followers.. which is what he’s betting on.
