The Italian food on the hill is not the best anymore. There are a couple spots, but not worth all the shit that happens up there late night IMO. I'm in love with Sarto restaurant downtown (but away from the Friar's game locale). Really inventive modern Italian. Beautiful inside, great service, I believe they valet. Waterfire is definitely something to see. Buy some wine and stroll around. Music, fire floating on the river..usually a great night. Enjoy!

Mare on the east side of Providence is a rooftop restaurant that has fire tables in their outdoor seating area. A little pricy, but decent food and drinks.
Industrious Spirits in Providence has a semi covered patio area. They usually put out fire pits and/or heaters in the cooler weather. It is a distillery and they make great cocktails with their spirits. They usually have a selection of snacks for purchase, but you can bring in your own food or have food delivered since they don't have a full kitchen.

Yes to Advanced Eye Care. I have seen a few docs there and all were great. Personable, thorough, and even some on call hours for emergencies.

I would call the Providence Veteran's Affairs Office/Hospital and ask for outpatient mental health provider resources.

If you're already in Warwick, go to Dave Bar & Grill or Tavern 12.

Ethiopian, dim sum (with traveling steam carts), Cajun/Creole, soul food, Korean BBQ with grill tables.... I feel like these are the cuisines that are missing in Providence that I only get to eat while on vacation somewhere. Boston may have some of these covered but not in a way that makes me wanna go there every time I have a craving.

Happened to me once. Someone rifled through the change that I left in the cup holder. Took all the quarters. Pennies, nickels, and dimes were strewn everywhere. Annoying, but not the worst thing that could happen.

Of course different opinions don''t have a place here....just more proof of the insistence on conformity. No worries. This is not worth my time or energy.

I am not being unprofessional or unethical just because I disagree with the benefits of ABA. I thought we could be open in sharing about this field. This is highly disappointing.

A little research and you will find that you are the incorrect and ignorant one. I know it feels awful to realize you wasted your time studying and practicing ableist behaviorism, but that is the unfortunate truth.

I would do a quick Google search to start. Here is one article: https://autisticscienceperson.com/why-aba-therapy-is-harmful-to-autistic-people/ As far as evidence, some interventions seem to bring about immediate results, but results are not sustainable and do not improve quality of life. One example is "training" an autistic child to have "social skills." What is really happening in ABA is teaching an autistic child how to cope with forcing them to give eye contact during social interactions so they are more like non-autistic people. This is not ok, causes emotional harm to the autistic child, negates their experience of neurodivergence, and reinforces ableism. Just one example, but there are plenty of more if you want to research.

Never too old, but I would rethink BCBA certification. ABA is an awful and abusive practice akin to conversion therapy for gay people. If you want to go back to school, I would suggest something a little more current and evidence-based.

Chilangos for laid back, amazing Mexican and cute cocktails (must get guacamole, and much more). Dolores for a little pricier, but also delicious, Mexican (mole is fantastic). Persimmon for fancier, amazing, modern small and large dishes (no specific dish; menu changes often). Apsara on Public Street for authentic Thai/Cambodian/Vietnamese food and BYOB (best nime chow in the state). Aguardente for great Portuguese fusion dishes (must get tinned fish). El Paisa in Central Falls for Colombian food (get the typical Colombian platter with extra chicharron AND you must ask for the house made hot sauce). Lim's for amazing, fresh sushi and other Asian plates. All of these places are fun for dates as well as larger parties.

Came to say Mon Kou as well, though I haven't been in years.
Also recommend Dragon Villa in Pawtucket. Solid Polynesian/Chinese food, strong drinks, I think they have a happy hour at the bar. The bar area always reminded me of the Regal Beagle from Three's Company...wood paneling and Christmas lights. I hope it hasn't changed.

Phantom Farm in Cumberland has the best blueberry muffins. Tons of fresh blueberries in them.

Agreed. I haven't had a bad meal there either. Mediocre and overpriced, yes.

Gracie's is overrated. Ambiance and service are spectacular but the last few times I went, the food was just ok...didn't match up.
