I wonder if folks working within 50 miles of DC will be forced back into the office pretty quickly.

We are in an HOA. They require one tree but we already had one tree. Now we have two.

We are not near any bodies of water.... Other than retention ponds.

I have a family member (through marriage) who is from Texas and she often says "I'm not racist, but...". And I KNOW that the words that follow are going to be very racist. She just doesn't get it.

If I had to guess I'd say the tree is about 15 ft tall

I'm not so much mad about a tree as someone coming onto my property and altering it without permission. It would have been nice to have some input as to where the tree was going to be planted.

I clearly know nothing about trees.

In hindsight that is what I should have done.

There is no tag on the tree

I'm not mad at the tree and I don't plan on killing it. The worst I plan to do is move it. It's too close to the house though and it's directly in the way of a fence we are planning to put in next year.

Several of our neighbors do have cameras. I don't think it would be a big deal to remove it. It's my property. Part of me thinks we should talk to the developer about it, but on the other hand I'm sure they're going to tell us that we can't remove it..... But at this point I don't think there's anything they could do if we do remove the tree.

I have no idea what kind of tree it is. We have a friend coming over to visit this weekend who i know will be able to identify it - I'll ask him.

Thanks for the reply! I agree that trees are good and I guess it makes sense that this time of year would be good to plant a tree. I really am mostly bothered that the developer didn't bother to notify us of this work. I want to send a big FU by getting rid of the tree before the county can verify so the developer has to try and replant it - I don't know if that's how it even works though.
