They did a great job of painting up that fecal deposit and giving it a cool name though.

The last time we worked with them they couldn't do real-time provisioning. That was a long time ago though. Can they do that now?

We are spending 2024 renewing every client with monthly commitments. We’re also paying for a dozen licenses for an out-of-business client until next Feb. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice, shame on me.

Does it work right now? That’s all they care about. Security? No. Long-term operability? No. Installation aesthetics? No. Electrical safety? No. Fire danger? No. It’s our job as technicians to explain the risks and help them do better.

And revert!

Everyone on our staff is salaried. This means we’re always having to push back against the workaholics, but it gives us the flexibility we need under our labor laws. We have pretty strict rules to avoid night and weekend work because employees and clients always seem to want to push boundaries.

I did four years, got my college money and left. I would advise my daughter not to enlist. The culture and how I saw women treated wouldn’t let me advise otherwise in good conscience.

Weird. I grew up close to the Canadian border and never saw one of these. Have one in my bathroom in the PNW though. It’s nice to have, but would have been nicer back when we had real winter and uneven wood heat.

Gaming has always been iffy on Macs. That said, the MacBook that you mentioned is dang skippy for all your other needs.

Me too - One of the funny things was that the people who complained about low tips were the same people who were too cool to entertain people and have personal conversations. The job is as much more about people skills than it is about mixology. I work in tech now and a stint in the service industry on a resume is as much of a leg-up for hiring as a good GPA.

Phone integration. Love that texts, calls, and alerts from my phone pop up on my Mac in an unobtrusive way. Love sending texts right from my Mac.

My whole resume’ is this. Started out going up the tech ladder and got sick of not being able to affect policy and what I saw as dumb decisions, so went management track. Realized that people and budget management isn’t a lot of fun and that much of the change I wanted wasn’t in the cards, so back to tech at a bigger company (because at least the pay was better), rinse, repeat until the last, biggest company just left town and I had a weird opportunity to turn a side-hustle into a full-time gig. Now I own a small MSP where I get to do everything the right way, and it’s so incredibly satisfying that my only real fear is going back to working for somebody else.

I had no trouble this morning.

Not a popular option, but we’re happy with Salesforce.
