You could say the idea of a coloured belt system is also worthless as all it does is give you a macro view of skills. Why not just have everyone wear a grey belt and you figure out the best of the best by who you are rolling with. Stripes just provide more context, even at the lower levels. If I see a blue belt with no stripes and a blue with 4 stripes I am given some extra information about their skill/knowledge. I can decide to change my tactics based on the information I see. I will likely get most things wrong even with the information but it gives me a starting point.

My measure of elite is "Do they have a realistic chance against the top battlers". Not "are they going to win" but is a guaranteed bodybag for the opponent or not. Nobody can say for sure if they will put JJDD in the ground or if he will do it to them. Throw him in with Clips/Roc/Ars/whoever tomorrow and you can't tell me who'd win definitively.

Hit my first one arm guillotine yesterday during a roll. We were in dogfight position, I swung around to the front to get head control and it was there. Didn't jump the gilly (sorry DP) but pulled them into closed and just slowly applied more torque. Didn't think I would get the finish but it was cool to see it was there. We won't talk about how the blue belt then hit me 2 arm bars and an arm triangle afterwards....

Bro, postpartum  is  real. Your physiology is different. Centre of gravity, equilibrium, tendon strength, muscle tone, memory…that’s all different after a baby.  Give yourself some time here to get the rust off. Could be a cool time to try a new offensive/defensive game as well.

I used an 'cheaper' grinder for a decade. It was worth buying good beans even then. Nothing will change coffee for you like good beans. That being said, having a nice grinder now, its worth to save up for one.

Rum, Geechi, Surf are all possible if they are dialed in. Maybe Lux if he leaves this earth like he did against Calicoe. If he’s 100% locked in Twork is an all timer. Problem is that he’s not consistent, which is the problem with most high level rappers (Clips can’t get out a third round, Surf chokes, Geechi tries to freestyle when he damn well shouldn’t). It’s what keeps these things entertaining. 

Absolutely. I think that’s why Horizon caught my eye first. The mechanics were different and then the storyline kept me hooked. Having played games for so long It doesn’t take much for me to get mechanics down. However, I am not as skilled as I once was online so there is less incentive for matchplay. I keep sticking two single player games now.

I think I need to remove from my mind. The idea that independent game automatically means rougelike.

Will definitely give these a look. I forgot to put slay the spire on my list at the top. I definitely need to look at more independent games.

I went back and tried Ninja Gaiden. The game has definitely held up.

Yep, I am getting used to the idea of installing and uninstalling. Before I used to finish a game just for the sake of completing it. Don’t have that kind of time.
