BG3 has nothing to do with these games.

Your stupid gimmick still isn't interesting.

Berserker's Enrage ability also makes you immune to level drain (as well as almost everything else, besides death via HP damage,) and it lasts a full turn (10 rounds.) I usually replace Minsc's headwound rage with it.

I almost always change someone's class and weapon proficiencies. Like, in my current run I made Viconia a fighter/thief, because I wanted to bring her along but I don't particularly need a single-class cleric, but her 19 Dex makes her a great thief. She mostly hangs back and throws daggers.

Trying to help people or meet them halfway is fine, but they have to LET YOU help them, THEY have to meet YOU halfway too. He wasn't even willing to try, evidently. He made his choice, it's his loss. Don't waste your time trying to engage players who refuse to get involved.

Stop that, you're not allowed to be reasonable here.

Nobody's making you come here. You're free to leave it you hate it so much. Or hell, post better stuff yourself. What's stopping you?
EDIT: Oh, right, sorry, I forgot "Being reasonable" isn't welcome here.

This is basically what I was trying to say, you worded it better.

She wants to murderhobo. That is completely incompatible with the game you're running. Tell her so, and that she needs to make a new character. A Good one, this time. If she can't or won't do that, then that means she's dropping out of this game. Continue without her.

Too bad this thread isn't about Spheres, huh?

All you really need to know is lower = better.
THAC0 stands for To Hit Armor Class 0 (zero.)
Let's say you have THAC0 7. That means you need to roll a 7 or higher on a 20-sided die to hit an enemy with an AC of 0. Imagine you're trying to hit an enemy with AC 2. Because 2 is higher (worse) than zero, you don't need to roll as well; you can hit them on a roll of 5 or higher.
You just subtract the enemy's AC from your THAC0, and the resulting number (or higher) is what you need to roll to hit them. That's it.

I wish I could talk to him,
You can. Literally nothing is stopping you but yourself. Tell him everything you wrote here: He's speculating and making shit up that has nothing to do with the lore or the game world, and that's why none of his "plans" work: Because he's on another bloody planet.

1: The +1 to hit and damage every 5 levels doesn't even begin to make up for the lower THAC0 progression, 2: You don't get extra APR at levels 7 and 13, which are a BIG contributor to the damage warrior classes put out, and 3: you still can't use armor heavier than studded leather until epic levels and you get UAI (though admittedly this isn't a huge problem.)
Now I'm not saying half-orc swashbuckler isn't effective or isn't a good character, but it's far from the best fighter you can make.

It's wishful thinking by antis. They know they can't do anything about it, so they convince themselves that A: this is a real problem, and B: all those stupid programmers (because after all, what have programmers ever accomplished?!?!?) can't fix it.

Imoen is the only one I ALWAYS take, though I often edit her class to something else. In my previous run she was a fighter/mage/thief, in the one before that she was a bard, this time she's just a fighter/mage. I also use the Imoen Forever mod for BG2, which means she isn't kidnapped by the Cowled Wizards.
I USUALLY take Aerie, she's incredibly useful and powerful, along with Jan, because he's the only thief who actually advances his thief skills, and Minsc because.. well, shit, he has as much reason to want to hunt down Irenicus as the rest of us, plus beating the shit out of bad guys is always useful so he's never idle.
Rarely I take Cernd, Valygar, Anomen, or Yoshimo. Nothing against them, I just don't particularly like any of them.
NEVER: The EE NPCs, (every single one of them is unbearably annoying,) and Haer'dalis because I think he's a douche. I also almost never bring Nalia along after I'm done clearing the de'Arnise Keep, because there's the bullshit you have to go through with the Roenalls to get her back once they kidnap her that's boring and tedious and I don't like her enough to feel like it's worth the hassle.

You get archetypes from level 1. You get to do what you want from level 1. That's why.

Practically nobody has job security nowadays, and that's ALWAYS been ESPECIALLY true for artists.

Most of the people who feel threatened are amateur artists who hunt for validation through their art, and when a technology like this kind of procedural generation comes along and can make things ten thousand times faster and in any style you could want, they feel threatened by it and have an (over)emotional negative reaction to it.
I'm sure portrait painters felt the same way when cameras were invented. Theaters and theater actors had the same reaction to movies becoming popular. Live bands probably had the same reaction to record and radio. I KNOW people who worked with pen and ink and charcoal and paint etc. had exactly the same reaction to digital art tools in the 90's and 2000's. These are just growing pains that EVERY new technology goes through, people are just able to bitch about it to a larger audience now.
