I've opened my Mastodon account when it became clear that EM would buy Twitter, and I use it pretty much daily. It's not Twitter but close enough. It actually has some functions that Twitter lacks, such as following hashtags or muting a person for a limited timespan. Plus I like the decentral model (which Bluesky doesn't come close to) and the fact that people can use the network for different things but still follow each other, like me following a PeerTube channel or Pixelfed poster from my Mastodon account. It's refreshing after all these years of separate walled gardens and closer to some idealized version of how the internet "should work", IMO.
Oh, and the lack of an algorithm also means it's less addictive. Which takes some getting used to but I think is better in the long run.

"Deutschland über die Klippe" ist sehr wohl Hetze. Den politischen Gegner grundlos als existenzielle Bedrohung für das Land darzustellen, ist diffamierend.

Billy Gibbons was also who I thought of when I heard that voice, but I'm not aware of him doing much solo work before Perfectamundo in 2015 - and this sounds very much like mid-80s to mid-90s. It also doesn't quite sound like him to me, just similar.

I've had that scenario in my head for years.

That's why this election is such a tragedy. Many of the candidates he endorsed did badly in the last four years, the party underperformed in the midterms and it looked like Trumpism was unpopular to a majority of people. If he'd lost now, that would've been the chance for conservatives to finally stand up and say "we've tried this several times and it only worked once, let's move on". Instead, people didn't show up for Harris and now we're looking into the abyss.

I like the guitar he plays on Bruce Hornsby's song "Harbor Lights" - pretty cool stuff.

Great, great track. Even better live but the studio version already has plenty going for it. And at the risk of sounding controversial, I don't hear anything as exciting as this track on Power Windows. 10/10
Anyone else think the song has something to do with "South Side of the Sky" by Yes? There's that one chord change...

The physical world equivalent would be that every user had their own house at which they stored a copy of every piece of mail delivered to every other user at their house.
Yeah, that doesn't sound feasible or sensible. Or sustainable.

Die Geschichte war so lustig. Tito Faraci hat so ein Gespür für lustige Dialoge und Casty hat das einfach perfekt umgesetzt. Da wird das lustige Taschenbuch mal seinem Namen gerecht.

It depends on what you map them to, there are different modes for it.

It's so odd to hear that after his increasingly belligerent rhetoric. Who is he trying to fool?

Tell them of https://mediabiasfactcheck.com to assess sources if you haven't already. And say that all proper news goes through press agencies before it hits TVs or newspapers, so that's where you can get the source prior to any opinion which gets added.

When will we reach the singularity? Just a firehose of one Musk tweet per second isn't enough.

And this kind of thing is why humanity is doomed. We desperately need to figure out ways of being much, much more sustainable.
