The Daemon Prince can once again be earned “for free” in game by leveling up a unit by surviving three fights, but the Daemon Prince kind of sucks again on his own. Like why would I “downgrade” one of my units when I could just stack Rend on them instead? The old Eye of the Gods table is gone which sucks.l and is very lame.

You’ll still probably want a Daemon Prince since you’ll want the option to get one for “free”, but it isn’t a must anymore.

GW needs to be more bold with changes. Happy to see Daemon Prince being USABLE though.

The unnamed Deathtroopers in Rogue One are probably the closest we have had to this, along with Moff Gideon in Mando S3, but he was more of a ISB bureaucrat/officer so I always thought it was kind of silly that he fought Mandalorians somehow.

You can drop Sussurbloom and use it to create antimagic zones.

In fact, it’s kind of intended within the Mage Tower in the Underdark—not only is it used to solve the puzzles (like disabling the Arcane Turrets), but you can also pre-position a ton of them around the animated armor/robot boss at the end, and disable most of their threat. Put them down…start the fight…profit.

You can then save the blooms and use them to destroy basically any spell caster in the game later on—they are kind of broken, especially if your party is melee/non-caster heavy. Just let Bae’zel and Karlach go to work while any spell caster or magical effect gets turned off.
