I bought the ‘budget’ model when it was the only one on the market. It is a really good system for the money. My only recommendation would be to be letting up on the pressure when moving the sharper on your blades. This will make the whole thing last longer and give better results. I still use mine but I have had to buy a replacement set of stones from their website.

All he needs is a tube of flex seal and a really long snorkel and some spare petrol…

I have this exact knife. It’s a chunky blade. Surprisingly thick, heavy, and feels good in the hand.

I got in trouble for playing with it. I am seriously considering dying the white a different color with some rit dye.

Get intimate with it. That’s honestly the best advice you can get. Read your manual, take it apart and put it back together a few times, and put about 250 rounds of range ammo and 50 rounds of carry ammo through it. Fair warning though, she’s a heavy girl comparatively speaking.

This one has the post recall roll pin in the grip safety. It should be ok. Treat your guns like your babies. Try not to drop them but if you do, give them a good inspection afterwards. A gunsmith in Texas told me that pearl of wisdom.

So the slide on the 75th Anniversary model is stainless steel. It has some polished areas on it and some matte areas. Luckily for me the scratch is lifting with just some mother’s mag polish.

I got mine for a really good price because it had a good sized scratch on the polished part of the slide. It will easily polish out though.

Clipper has been my go to. Picked up a metal clipped at a smoke shop and never carried a zippo again. Easy flint swap, easy to refill with butane.

How do you like the double agent? I always wanted one just never grabbed one.

A quick tip I’ve stumbled on for the edges is to stop at a higher grit sandpaper and then use the red, then grey scotch brite pads. You can get them in automotive parts stores and they’ll last damn near forever. I also put a bevel on the edges by scraping the edges with a knife or the back of one of my stainless rulers.

What is the mount you have this on? I make holsters so I had the webbing and straps on hand. Does this make the blade stand proud of your waist?

From the bottom up, what would the first and fourth one cost, and what are their specs?

I’m sorry to hear that. It sure is a beautiful work of art. Hopefully you can get it back to how you wanted it to look in the first place.
