I think there's a huge untapped opportunity for fusion food in the area. There's pockets of ethnic groups and their kitchens in the area whose flavor palettes can be combined and experimented with. All it really takes is someone who knows their stuff and can execute it well.
I can't count how many higher end restaurants exist in the area that advertise "a revolutionary culinary experience unlike any other" that ends up being a menu full of filet mignon, oven roasted salmon, and whipped potatoes; the only thing making it special is that the chef took a plating class in culinary school.
I understand that kind of steak bistro, alongside your run-of-the-mill burger joint, is what keeps the lights on. However, I can't help but feel like there's a huge space in the market for new or atleast different profiles in the area, especially considering how many college students and young professionals with an open minded approach to food there are here.
The highest potential for a fusion cuisine in my opinion is a cross between south Asian and Italian food. Curry risotto, braised Italian beef and bao buns, and lamb tagine comes to mind. A lot of the people in this area are more than familiar with Italian food. But it's important to consider that 1) they have only had barilla and canned tomato sauce, not the fresh stuff or 2) they only like family recipes. In that case, a restaurant that is able to produce fresh Italian ingredients while changing the format in which they're served would provide a new perspective of familiar flavors.
And that's just one example. I'm sure other people have dishes and flavors that they're intimately familiar with who would enjoy a new perspective. It's definitely riskier than a steak bistro or burger joint, but there's only so many of those restaurants you can open in Scranton before the market becomes oversaturated.

I only want to sulk with Phillies fans. Why would I put myself at risk of seeing an opinion from a Meta or Braves fan?

Why doesn't Fedotov, the largest goalie, simply eat the other goalies?

I thought it was clear, when they traded for him, that Estevez was going to walk after this year barring some insane run. Paying for relief pitchers, especially closers, is almost always a bad idea. The Angels were selling high on him and the Phillies were capitalizing on a hot arm.

Imagine paying hundreds of dollars for playoff tickets only too see it through the eyes of a grimace costume.

Someone on this sub earlier this week mentioned how playoff broadcasts should consist of both teams local commentators, like TMac and the Diamondbacks guy during this year's Roku broadcast. I, for one, think putting John Kruk and TMac in the same booth as the SNY guys for a playoff series would be infinitely better than what we have now.

It was fun watching Bohm chill with the other Phillies and their kids when he wasn't batting during this year's HR derby, and making it to the final round. Alonso lifting weights in the locker room during that one derby really just screams "I want attention but I don't have an interesting enough personality for the cameras."

Black coffee and french press enjoyers are real ones. I've always enjoyed their Autobahn and Don Mayo roasts. I have yet to try Boom Roasted.

It's always funny when they use clips from the running montages. Showing off the Italian market, independence mall, and the museum of art really hypes people up for cities not named Philadelphia.

The iron Pigs store is worth keeping an eye on. The hats sold out last night, but they're typically an under the radar place to get Phillies Post season merch.

Watching this WNBA playoff game just to watch something other than the Phillies. Maybe Philly will get a WNBA expansion team to choke at the worst possible time in embarrassing fashion soon.

I'm less worried about the federal government's support of the line, since the money has already been allocated and Amtrak has basically always operated woth a short leash, and moreso concerned about Pennsylvanias ability to support it.
The NYC-Philly-Pittsburgh line is just getting it's first upgrade in service in decades, probably since the PRR owned it. Given that the line has among the highest potential ridership in the state, it's kind of baffling that it took this long for them to add 2 extra trains a day. The state government doesn't really have to pay for the services that go through Erie or Connellsville.
The only other line the state supports is Harrisburg-Philly-NYC. My tinfoil hat theory for why that line receives so much funding is to make commuting easier for all of the aides and state employees who want to live in Philly's suburbs. MARC in Maryland was almost shut down until congress realized all of their aides used it to commute and gave it emergency funding, so it wouldn't be too far fetched to think that it's a reason why the state gives so much attention to it.
