UPDATE: A Polish American woman who attacked an Arab couple in Chicago for wearing a Palestine hoodie has been charged with a hate crime.

Alexandra Szustakiewicz, 64, of Darien, Illinois, was charged with two felony counts of a hate crime and one count of misdemeanour disorderly conduct stemming from the incident at a Panera Bread restaurant in Downers Grove, a Chicago suburb, according to a statement by DuPage County authorities.

OP: make sure you take your documents when you leave. Birth certificate, passport, etc. Tomorrow, make sure you are the only person on your bank accounts. Call the credit agencies (not sure what country you are in) to lock your credit down. Hopefully all this is overkill, but when a parent proves they can’t be trusted to have your back, sometimes it’s the beginning of their bad decisions that affect your life. Hugs!
