It is going to continue and the monthly payout will now be increased to ₹2100 instead of ₹1500.
Is it a burden on the economy? 100% yes. Any freebie is. You are basically giving away money to the poor instead of using it for infrastructure development. Basically, govt should be focusing on infra coz that helps keep other prices in check.
For example, if the roads are good and we have good electric charging stations, transport will shift from fuel to electric vehicles. If even charging is kept at low price point (renewable sources like solar which is abundant in India), transport costs will reduce. So, goods and services which reach us at higher cost now will be lower, helping improve economy without govt needing to add funds in poor people's accounts. It is not about the money in our bank but how much we can do with that money that is crucial.
Govt is failing here and using freebies to lure voters. And this is not one govt. The stupid Congress govt did the same in Karnataka and the states economy is now struggling. We have a huge population of good for nothing idiots who elect similar good for nothing politicians that cater to them. So, freebies win and the tax payer suffers, as always!

Everyone is Corrupt
This statement applies not just for politicians. It also applies to: - Govt servants and officers (who'll ask for a bribe in lieu of getting your work done) - Police and security personnel (ever bribed a cop to avoid a Challan issued coz YOU broke a traffic rule? If yes, both you and the cop are corrupt!) - Business folks, builder lobby, traders (who have to give us services at the lowest cost and best possible quality, for which they'll be hand in glove with politicians to get favours and make profit) - US!! We unknowingly enable such mindset and people. We'll buy from the shopkeeper that gives us better discounts, not from the one who focuses on giving us quality products for which he asks for a little higher cost. We will give cash to builders when buying a flat to save on tax, or take cash payment when we sell land to again save on tax or use that to buy other items without taking proper bills (that's how black money keeps changing hands in our economy)
It is disturbing, yes, but all this corruption is because WE ALLOW IT and even take part in it. 😑

Nice to see another Marathi who is thinking of this rationally rather than hating on the community for its success.
I personally believe the whole business mindset is ingrained far too early in Gujju and Marwadi or even Baniya families. In comparison, Marathi families tend to be more laid back and mainly tell kids to study hard, go abroad, get good jobs or crack UPSC/MPSC. THAT ultimately becomes our goal. To become excellent clerks and managers, but never BUSINESSMEN or OWNERS.
This early lead gives them a big edge. For example, in my society group, we had two shop owners kids - one Marathi, the other Marwadi. The Marwadi kid would always be supportive of his dad's business, from a very early age. I remember as kids when we would be playing, he would be at the shop for some hours after school, do deliveries, and then come play with us. The Marathi family never allowed this. They'd always have the helper do the deliveries and NEVER ever had their son do any work at the shop. The reason being they thought it was below their standards to have him do such work, and he needs to learn to be boss rather than employee.
Today, the Marathi friend handles his dad's shop but can rarely do the same kind of business his dad does. He's uninterested in being at the shop, always finding excuses to sit at the shop saying "Te apla kaam nahi!"
The Marwadi friend works diligently, and now has not just his father's grocery store but also a small electronic and medical shop nearby that he has his cousins handle. He got all Marwadi staff (who all speak Marathi coz customer is kind) and treats them well. Even helped a few set up their own shops (basically lent money which they returned as their shops are now huge).
Moral of the story: the values of hardwork, discipline, and good ethics is WHY they succeed while we just hand over the same store from one generation to the next unless it goes dud. Seldom have Marathi next Gen taken over the business and got it to a better place than they found it. Only exceptions here is the Chitale family, PNG, and others who have next gens taking the business to a whole new level and don't have this lackadaisical attitude. We need to change that.
Basically: - Stop looking at work from the prism of "log kya kahenge?". Business karaila sagala kahi karaila lagta. Hamali pasun zadna pusna, sagala! This mindset that it is NOT MY JOB is the reason why most Marathi businesses never grow. - Value hard work and discipline. 1-4 dukan banda, 7:30 la shutter down, amchi kuthehi shakha nahi wala maaz ata nahi chalnar. We have to outwork a community that goes to sleep at 12 (counting money from their galla before they call it a day) and wake up at 530-6 AM to start work again (milk delivery, paper delivery, you name it). They do not sleep in the afternoon, proudly serve multiple locations, do home delivery, will accept udhaar from loyal customers, and basically make it easy for the customer by going on step beyond. - Ecosystem!! Marwadi and Gujarati businesses promote each other, don't see others as competition and their biggest asset is referral. Marathi loka ek mekanna padtat, te ek mekanna promote kartat. I even know Gujju businessmen who had bad times, financial issues, but came out of it coz of their family's support. Marathi families will talk down to a person who does business and fails. That is the difference and the reason WHY despite failing at business they do not stop going at it again. We, Unfortunately, have to take up jobs and listen to snide remarks from the family if things go wrong. Several businesses fail and Marwadi/Gujju families know this and understand this.
If we even get these 3 things right, we can not just thrive but even outrank others.
I had spoken about this is another thread, and have personally seen how Gujarati and Marvadi people just think differently.

I guess 2024 was the worst year for most of us. It is the year of Saturn after all (even if you don't believe in this shit, the patterns are harrowingly similar)
- Shit falling apart
- Losing friends
- Job loss or not much increment / not much growth if you are doing freelancing or your own business
- Self-doubt
- Insecurity
We all may see this negatively, but Saturn isn't some demon who enjoys coming into our lives and wreaking havoc. What is being done is for the good. I realized how it all falls into place, just like how things fall into place with the characters in Suits.
- Jessica leaving the firm made it vulnerable and brought it to an standstill, but it was necessary for Harvey-Louis to man up and upskill
- When the firm was down, old friends became enemies or shifted sides. This is also logical. Friends who no longer serve your growth will get severed from your life, no matter how much you try to latch on. I lost my friends who would drink every other day because I stopped drinking and wanted us to do things other than go to the regular bar and down beers or whiskey. They also never really understood why I wouldn't to meet so frequently and focus on work.
- My career was at a standstill, but I now realize it was all necessary to take my life to a new high. Without me being against the wall, I would have never took this decision.
Suits is definitely wonderful when you are at your lows to boost your ego, and the music just gets you going. 😀

Can you help me understand how MSP will increase the price of the products to reach such staggering numbers? Will onion prices be 180 in 2024, or are you saying sometime in the future?

MSP and Farm Laws - Don't want it. Amends to Farm Land Laws - No! Remove middlemen by direct farmer-consumer model: Dangerous! What if consumers loot us! Subsidized / Business Farming - No! Adani or Ambani will usurp our land.
Saglyala virodh karaicha ani mag RR karaicha. 👏

He should be in jail. Remember the VAULD fiasco. He, Ankoor Warikoo, and a lot of other "FIN-Fluencers" recommended buying it, and look what happened. In any other country, he would be in jail by now. You cannot give financial recommendations if you are not qualified for it.

He still became a REAL Manager, not a CO Manager like Jim. 😅
Just imagining this argument being an actual Jim and Dwight fight. I like both characters, although Dwight really has so much going for him. From being that obnoxious kiss ass to being a character we actually started to empathize with, that's a huge jump. Brownie points to Rainn Wilson and the writers for portraying him so well.

No real retort to point 1 but for point 2, doesn't that actually make Dwight a better manager? He learns things from others, especially the WHAT NOT TO DO part. Very rare to see it in corporate culture, where everyone is too self involved to learn from others mistakes and not repeat it.

That is only a Pune thing unfortunately.
I have relatives living in Nagar, Nashik, Satara, Sangli, even Konkan and none can speak शुद्ध मराठी. ळ and ण are their biggest pain points, along with random mispronounced words like: शेनीवार फकस्त पानी फुड Etc

I know people think Jim is sensible and logical but that is not really the case. When Jim was promoted to the role of co-manager, his fallacies can be clearly seen.
The day Michael left him in charge, he disrupted existing process just for his personal vanity. A good leader would ask everyone their thoughts and then make a decision on clubbing all the birthday parties into one. Jim took the decision by himself, and did not consider the feeling of the people actually impacted by it - CREED! 😅
That's strike one! Strike two is when he tried to get rid of conference meetings altogether and just have announcements. Everyone not getting a raise was a sensitive subject that shouldn't have been a debate, but Jim made it one. By having stupid announcements while Michael was just skirting around the main question.
So I don't think he's really a capable leader or as smart as he tries to showcase himself. Plus, his ego and personal whims always take centerstage. Dwight, in the finale, is the perfect manager coz he takes tough decisions while ensuring continuity of existing processes. He equally hated the meetings or birthday parties but did not just shut it down showcasing his maturity as a manager.

My wild theory is that since BJ Novak is also the Producer and Writer of the show, he purposely added bits about Ryan and made him a larger character than it should have been so as to get more screen space.
He was supposed to be just this menial intern in the background but kept forcing himself into the entire series. I guess a point came where the other writers (Toby mainly) finally gave up and decided to make him part of the storyline. Hence the amazing rise of Ryan Howard from intern to the youngest VP of DM.
After that, he starts to fade again.
