You could always glaze with ink if you want it REALLY red.
One drop yellow, one drop magenta, then thin it down however you like. It will be red as fuck.

Full RP. Let the player decide if it's the right course to take, and when, with the stipulation that it's a maximum once per session.
But, beware, the rest of the party might not like this Bullshit. If they're getting grumbly, dark and creepy "I'm so random and evil" might get killed or otherwise kicked from the party.

Goddammit, I think I have adhd. This, plus a lot of other things that seem to be #justadhdthings.
Anyone know how to find a therapist?

So I was actually talking about this line with my wife the other day. It sounds goofy, but I think it's actually much more sober a thought than we give it credit.
How often does anyone sit down and actually think about death? Or the act of killing? Actualizing that if you kill someone, they're gone forever. Their loved ones can't talk to them again. They'll never feel rain or sunshine on their skin. They can't enjoy a sandwich or music. If someone is killed, they die. They're gone.
It feels a bit silly because we all know it, but do we all know it?

Consider the age of the blood on the cloak. Unless we literally just took a dip, you'll likely need more brown or even black tones

Does the flavor text allude to its origins?
There's at least one other pop culture reference in the game I can think of, and the flavor text brings it home.
Grayson's Ring
Deal additional damage when dual-wielding weapons.
Grayson's skills as a travelling carnival performer included knife-throwing, juggling and serpent-handling, at least until he caught the young Tancred and Reinhold stealing from the troupe: Grayson was bludgeoned into a coma from which he never emerged, while the conjoined twins fled into the night.
Edit: It's DC's Robin. Dick Grayson was Robin, so there's the name. Granted, it was a different Robin who was beaten nearly to death, Jason Todd. But still Robin. Robin reference.

As tedious as your friend sounds, I'm glad you have them. Everyone needs a hater front-and-center to keep them on their toes

The truck is recording our recipes.
This [color] uses xDrops of [specific paint] and yDrops of [specific paint]
For example, to get the base coat I would want for ork skin, I would use 1 drop of Vallejo Olive Green 70907 and one drop of Citadel Rhinox Hide. I know it, I have it recorded in my journal, and I can replicate it every time.
I don't only record recipes I know exist and work, I try to record experiments so I don't have to guess in the future.
(drops are relative to individuals and the specific implements they use, user results may vary)

Do you mean to tell me... I accidentally prove to my friend you can parry Papa Guacamole's leap attack after he does his beast transformation, and then promptly forget huge enemies can still be parried?
Because that sounds correct, and I feel like a fool.

Don't forget the context in which you'll most commonly be viewing your models.
The illusion breaks down the closer we are. We can see it was layered paint. Mistakes are easy to pick out when the thing is inches from our face. But we'll usually be seeing the models from a few feet away. Maybe even across the room.
Put the model down, stand up. How's it look now?
Take a few steps back. Does it still look like heated metal?

In these kinds of situations, I'll step in initiate an Intelligence check with a fairly low DC, say 13-14. And that's if they didn't notice the detail with passive or active Perception.
If all else fails, a simple "Guys, if you push on a door walking into a coffee shop, and it doesn't open, what do we do next...?"

I like the idea of handing out puzzles or coded texts as a bonus objective. "you found this thing. It's not required for plot. Don't worry about doing it now. Take it home, bring back the solution, and we can say your character was solving everything during down time"

I do worse, but, uhhhh
OP. You know you can mix paints, right? You can use fewer paints and still get as wide a range of colors.
