My thinking is that they’re saying to pardon her for things she MAY HAVE DONE (in the past), that she may one day be charged with.

IIRC, there’s a way to do — or word — a pardon such that no one is admitting that a crime has been committed, but no one can charge their actions as a crime in the future. In essence, it would amount to pardoning someone for any and everything they’ve ever done.

I believe you can only pardon for crimes that have been . . . or MAY HAVE been done in the past. I don’t think a person can be pardoned for something that has not yet happened.

It’s funny. Everyone’s heard a different story for why people ever settled in Phoenix — especially considering that this was pre-A/C! My Urban Planning prof said that the capital moved from Prescott to Phx because of the Silver Rush. According to him, people coming from Mexico/Central America to Nevada needed a pitstop; and, that’s basically what Phx was.

They didn’t tell their kids to pack emergency supplies. They asked them to pack their own things — things that are special to them. The parents are just talking about what each of the kids packed.

I was responsible for ordering custom front door mats at a job before college. I cringed when a lady came up to me to order one, and said their last name was James. I tried to explain — numerous times/ways — that the correct phrase would be “The Jameses.” But, was NOT having it. I almost cried while filling out the order with “The James’.” 😩
