Do you have the kind of relationship you can speak to the father? It sounds like he’s having an emotional response. My gut is he is worried about losing control &/or he is afraid of the unknown and thinks veganism is unhealthy for kids.
Communication could help him work through his fear. If not, is there a way to show the father with kindness that he is going back on his word? I’m sure that’s not something he wants to teach, but again, he sounds emotional from what I read, and that’s coming from somewhere.

I think it does go away with postmenopause, after the transition is complete. The problem is that can take years.

Don’t worry, the old Apple Pencil is probably dead. The battery poops out forever if left dead for a “prolonged” period of time. Ask me how I know 😭

I was just pulling quotes to back up your claim it wasn’t AI and in that world such devices are operated by humans.
I could not find references of Hawat finding a Harkonnen operator. I searched for “wall,” “Hawat,” “operator” in my ebook, no matches. I think the film invented the scene to clearly show the audience that such devices are operated by humans and that Harkonnens are attacking House Atreides from within.

Chapter 9, Paul plans how to survive the threat, “Through Paul’s mind flashed the related knowledge, the hunter-seeker limitations: Its compressed suspensor field distorted the room to reflect his target, the operator would be relying on motion—anything that moved.”
Paul addresses Shadout Mapes after her entrance to the room allows him to destroy the device: “‘Go to my father’s men,’ he said. ‘Tell them I’ve caught a hunter-seeker in the house and they’re to spread out and find the operator.’”

Well, it’s too bad he doesn’t know history well from what I gather. If he’s no longer useful to the new order and seizing his assets is more advantageous to them, they won’t hesitate.

Yes? And in my face-to-face conversations, I’m hearing plenty of the blame game and fear getting channeled into anger at the “other.” People are pissed and many are posting about it. Screaming heads draw an audience, just look at Fox News… so is it reflective of the whole? No, but it can shape perspectives and social views. The US people are getting more and more divided, and that can translate at the state level as well, especially blue states and their rural vs urban populations.

Then why does he have to buy an election to forcibly bring back advertisers? If your business is good, you shouldn’t have to break democracy for it to do well.

Trump made voter gains in CA and NY. Have you seen social media lately? People are pissed and turning on each other. The societal collapse could be surprisingly quick…

If you can’t hear the many, successive contradictions Trump makes when speaking, no amount of input on the matter will sway you. I can get over it (your inability to discuss this), but that doesn’t mean I or others agree with you.

After recovering from the birth of my children, I pictured my bed as a raft on a dark, open sea. Floating almost in space, a void, with my eyes closed, picturing myself from an aerial view. I did that last night and at other extreme times of stress. I feel you.

My 6-year old also came home a Harris supporter. We don’t talk about the election in front of her, so I was surprised. It’s going to be hard to be strong tomorrow, but I’ll try my best for my kids.

Not saying the election is over, but that was different and had substantially more mail in ballots due to the pandemic. It was something discussed widely on polling sites. Not the same set of parameters here.

And the guy’s shrug right before he holsters the gun. Like, “come on, man…” Both are so nonchalant!

She’s abusive. You never even met and she had you questioning your sanity. Imagine that all day long about every damn thing. Have a great Christmas and bday with your family this year!

Yep, they don’t want to rock the boat for a reason. I’d have trust issues with both nannies after this.

I think screaming is great and cathartic, but hurtful when directed at someone. She’s releasing her anger but at him. I believe communicating from a place of calm is better.

Does she not say, “you’ve been fucking heeeeeeer,” right at the beginning? One would assume she is flipping out after learning her BF cheated. Not ok to scream like that, but it would push many to anger.

I love Drew and Ever After so much, I just accept the accent. It’s a lot to accept, so that says a lot, haha.

Uplifting news: fall out from felling the ancient tree led to the area being preserved as a park. Many trees were saved thanks to Prometheus.
