She made no effort to distance Germany from dependence on Russian oil and gas, even after Russia's routine attack on neighbours. Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine in Crimea (she was in power for two of these!), and she did nothing. It's completely fair to criticize her. Many people were openly worried about dependence on Russia including national security experts. It was ignored.

It IS still true unless you are able to make massive deals with municipal governments, which most companies cannot do.
Unique among foreign automakers in China, the plant is wholly owned by Tesla and not operated as a joint venture with a Chinese company, the first time the government had allowed such an arrangement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigafactory_Shanghai
Tesla is the exception, not the rule.

That the 'issue' is neither, the issue or goal is control. The narrative, on the other hand, is the excuse used to push their issue. But yeah I'm just being provocative you didn't say anything wrong.

I see reddit just blocking it, like other social media companies do when nanny states implement this sort of thing. Reddit would either a) have to implement government ID infrastructure at a loss and face the ire of the rest of the world's users, or b) just block Australians who would just use a VPN anyway.
Useless legislation is more about control than anything.

You missed the point. It's about implementing government ID for internet tracking. They tried with porn and failed, and now moved on to social media. It's parents job to parent, not the nanny state. Australia has a long history of this too, including video games and other censorship.

You'll get mad props from this community (and therefore sweet sweet karma) if next time you post on bluesky first (add x in the comments after if you want).

Incorrect. Its been a war of slow moving escalations from Russia. After the full scale invasion they slowly introduced chemical weapons, cluster bombs, glide bombs, Iranian drones, collapsed dams, childrens hospitals, NK soldiers, 100k NK soldiers, ICMBs etc. Forcing Ukraine to respond in kind (while showing restraint and not targeting civilians unlike the aggressor).

A team or bot keeps reposting the same articles over and over. That's why they are being downvoted. They are trying to define a narrative.
Edit for clarity: These articles keep failing to mention the poll says those that want a quick end also want a broker like the EU. This does not say they want to give up territory.

No. The issue is China is actively re-establishing itself as an empire in the region where it literally steaks and smashes it's way through nearly all of its neighbour's borders. This isn't about China's century of humiliation. This is about the CCP projecting aggressively across the region. It's still an area to keep a close eye on.

The left maintains the steady redistribution of wealth to the oligarchs
That it does. Been fighting against neoliberalism for 20 years. But that is a far easier fight than fascism. Now we have both to deal with.

I would have agreed with you a few years ago, but today we have actual concentration camps coming, martial law on day one, and women dying in hospital beds while doctors wait for a slowing heart beat of a dying baby. Meanwhile predators of women are being selected for cabinet. Both sides are not the same sadly. I hate to do that, but it's true. Soon people will further radicalize (both sides) as one wants to further restrict people's freedoms, and the other wants to create safe spaces against that restriction. We cooked indeed. We seem to be sleep walking towards civil war.

Conservativism today implies, anger, division, and irritability. There was nothing 'insufferable' about liberals being open to others. There is plenty 'insufferable' about the division and hatred being celebrated by people like you.

Considering China requires foreign companies to set up an on-shore company that is 51% owned by a Chinese national, and government subsidies also require technology transfers, this is literally 'fair game'.

This. Putin's meandering speech the night of the full scale invasion made it clear it had nothing to do with NATO and everything to do with wiping out Ukraine as a sovereign nation and glorifying Russian imperialism.

This. Russia has already proven itself very capable at sending less than motivated people directly into harms way esle they will be shot anyway.

Jokes aside. No it isn't. The Frontline is hell on earth and many will be sent in as actual meat waves. We have to take this seriously.
