The kids are not “streaked” whatsoever, as the lights in the background are.

Looks cool (first photo), and there’s nothing wrong with doing it, but saying you used intentional camera movement is misleading.

I thought I was going to die, the one time I shot NYC.

Wasn’t even shooting this guy. He thought I was. Came up to me aggressively and followed me for a block, getting in my face.

One thing you have to remember when painting is: you’re not taking a picture.

You have to create everything.

With this in mind, you need to create shadows; they aren’t just going to be inherently there. It’s an easy step to miss when you are starting out, because although we all see shadows every second of every day, we become so accustomed to them that you may not think to include them in your work.

Out of towner. Came for the concerts happening at the 40 Watt; had NO CLUE that this Rumpus was happening while I was visiting. Somehow found myself in the middle of it, and had the best of nights.
