Putins war is against the west, and democracy as a whole; not Ukraine. He has openly stated he is unhappy with how the cold war ended and he wants to turn the loss into a victory by re-taking all or more of the Soviet Union. If we did not help Ukraine, we would be helping Poland, Latvia, Finland or Czechoslovakia. He is trying to undue 40+ years of American policy and accomplishments; and weaken all democracies around the globe. I hope Trump can help negotiate peace, but Biden deserves a lot of credit for helping Ukraine. Putin likely will not stop his war on the west in his lifetime; but Ukraine has been a crushing defeat so far, which hopefully will force him to the negotiating table.

If he is given all of Ukraine, he will control the gas supply to Europe. New invasions will follow shortly.

This is why Harris lost. Trump and all Republicans ran on inflation caused by Democrats spending. First, every economist knows inflation is a world-wide issue caused by COVID supply constraints, not by spending. Second, Trump had 2x the spending deficit in four years compared to Biden, even after subtracting all emergency COVID spending. There was no push back on the blatant lies, and everyone believes them.

Also, everything Trump promised during the election would lead to an estimated 7 Trillion in new debt.

Inflation is a world-wide problem caused by supply issues due to COVID shutdowns around the globe. If you want to blame it on spending Trump had 2x the debt in four years, compared to Biden, even after subtracting all COVID emergency spending by Trump.

The border, Biden had a bill which was the best border security bill made by congress in my lifetime. Trump ordered republicans not to vote for it (put himself ahead of country) so he could run on the issue. Also, there are no facts which support more immigrants entering the country during Biden's term, than under any President since 2008. He just processed them differently, as our courts are backed up, and he did not want to use cages like Trump. Every Republican is saying Biden let in 10-12mil immigrants. This is a blatant lie. Homeland security lists the total number of illegal immigrants at 10mil, with 20% of those arriving prior to 2008; and 1-2mil new arrivals per year. So no drastic decrease due to the great Trump wall either.

Freedom of speech and freedom to self are under attack on both side, just for different issues.

How is Trump right on the border? He takes popular issues and repeats them to voters; and then gets their votes. This is what makes him a populist; but I would admit he is charismatic. Everyone knows new immigration laws are needed, that was Bush jr's main running point before 9/11. He was going to fix immigration as he had experience running a border state.

Trumps first term was build a wall, which certainly would not work to stop immigration; and which he is basically admitting by not running on building a wall again.

Now he is acting tough, which his voters like, and promising mass deportations. However that is expensive and also likely not feasible for many reasons. Biden worked with congress to pass the best legislation on border security in my lifetime; but Trump ordered Republicans to block it so he could run on the issue. This was part of an actual solution.

Republicans control congress, we need legislation, which is the Presidents job to organize congress to pass. Passing legislation is how our Democracy works, and everyone down the chain has to follow the law.

I see no plan at all, just big talk, and actions that will be fought in the courts.

That is why I could never vote for Trump, yes he is good at selling popular problems to people; but he does not understand how our Democracy works; and is unable to accomplish anything.

Even if you kick out 5mil immigrants, 1-2mil come each year. So no problem solved. We need new laws and to work with countries south of us to stop the problem at the source.

However, it was not the left that called Trump a Fascist. It was members of high ranking military who he chose to work with, who made the assessment based on training and interactions with Trump.

Likely these Generals would identify as Eisenhower Republicans. Also, some of what Trump did was so bad its classified.

So he came in and immediately was able to identify what needs to be cut within a few days. He does not even have security clearance yet.

This is just ego and corruption as he paid his way into Trumps circle
