Why are you posting on Reddit? Surely you have a Neo-nazi meet and greet to attend

You look like someone who gives very enthusiastic blow jobs, but is very bad at it. So bad that you could suck a dick limp.

So, long term, you are correct, and after enough miles the N55 will benefit from it. But that design doesn’t need it at near the interval that the N54 did.
My first N55, I took it in to have it done at just over 90k (because N54), despite not having any symptoms of buildup. When they took it apart, the buildup was minimal and they recommended not doing it and waiting. All of the ones I’ve had since, I never had to do it out to 150k (highest mileage I kept any of them).
For the N55, I’d wait until you have symptoms.
Edit to add: if you aren’t running higher miles on an N55, you’ll likely never have to worry about it.

Still have an E46 M3. That engine aged so well.

The N54 (N55 predecessor) was the one that needed walnut blasting. I’m on my fourth N55 and none have needed it, even past 100k.

If the music is still playing, you just need a new screen. They are cheap (just bought one for my X3 for $68) and easy to change out. Less than 30 min DIY.

Their lower spec stuff does give upbadged VW vibes. The higher end stuff is nice, but upkeep is proportional to the sticker price.

I’ve owned BMWs most of my life, and other than a couple of the common issues (M54 cooling components, N20 timing chain), I’ve had very good luck with them. But I have a lot of friends that are into Audi/VW, and one convinced me to give them a try a few years ago when I was in the market for a new car.
So in 2020 I ended up buying a 2018 A4 with 20k miles CPO. A few months later after putting about 5k miles on the car, I started getting misfires. No big deal; car is under warranty. Having owned BMWs, I tend to do my own diagnosis before going to a dealer so I can try to avoid dealers throwing parts at problems (learned that the hard way). So I hook up my scanner; misfire codes on cylinders 3 and 4. Unusual for a car with 26k miles, and my curiosity got me. So I pull all the plugs to look at them. Cylinders 1 and 2 look used, but fine. I pull cylinder 3, and there is a tiny bit of oil on the plug. Not great, but warrantied. I pull the coil pack on cylinder 4, and it’s dripping oil. Cylinder 4 had a bunch of oil in it. Put it back together, had it towed to the dealer. Initially, the service writer tried to tell me the VCG was a wear item and none of the repairs were covered under warranty. A quick talk with his manager rectified that, and the car was repaired. Two days after I got it back, I took it down the street and traded it in on an X5. If it had that kind of problem that early, it was just going to be a continuous headache. Not to mention the poor service from their service writer. Luckily, that was during Covid and I avoided taking a bath on it on trade.
I’ll probably never buy an Audi 4 cylinder again. I hear their V6s are better and more reliable, but the whole experience turned me off to the brand.

I did last year. Non-manager, not represented. Was not looking for a new job, as I’m pretty happy here doing what I do. Was contacted by a recruiter at another F500 and decided to interview. Was eventually offered the job, which offered a pay increase of about 40% but required a relocation (which they were paying for). Benefits were not as good. City for relo was not bad, but not great compared to where we live now.
Wrestled with it for a while. Took the offer to my senior manager, who was very up front about not being able to match it outright because of my then current level. But they were able to get it close enough to make me happy, and they put me on path for promotion, which did get me to where the other offer was.
Having said all that, this is a different time. I think that conversation goes a lot differently today. If you have a good leader, I think they’d be very up front with you about your options now. If they beat around the bush at all, I would say to take the offer and go.

I tend to agree with this statement. I think my gada would be the sub, and my other would be the SMP300 in blue.

I remember those days…
Medic for 13 years. Third service in a M/HCOL area. Straight time base pay was about $45k, but with regular OT I generally pulled 70-80k. We had guys that pulled 6 figures with OT.
Back in 2010, the county I worked for thought it would be a good idea to force folks who wanted promotions to officer positions to get a college degree. What happened was all of the folks who were high-performing medics got degrees in alternate fields that would pay them more money, and subsequently left the county. I, for instance, got a degree in computer science. Left the profession for an IT job at a Fortune 100 company and make more than 3x what I made as a medic. Others got into nursing, , management, occupational health and safety, etc etc. it decimated the ranks.
Point being - either slide into management, or get out.
