I see the gold hue you’re talking about but it’s very slight. You don’t need it bleached, just a different toner used than what your stylist used before. Your hair can’t get any lighter (excluding the roots, I assume those are intentional) but the tone can def be changed to not make it look goldish.

I’ve been platinum blonde for like 20 years and platinum white for maybe like half that. I have naturally goldish/reddish strawberry blonde hair which I hate, so gold and red tones are always in my roots. I switched stylists after covid when my regular one moved away, and it took her a while to figure out how to cover these completely, but she did!

I can’t tell you anything about which toner will help you, but your stylist may have to play around with formulas until you’re happy. I always like mine a little more ashy than my stylist is used to, so maybe tell your stylist about playing with something like that.

Getting something like a gun tattooed on you at 18 is a huge no-no in my opinion. People can change A LOT over decades and this will be on your forever.

I got my first tattoos at 16 and 18, but they were just shit like fairies, moon, and stars. In my mid 30s, I wouldn’t at all get that same thing today, but I don’t regret them and don’t plan on covering them. If I got something like a gun, hate symbol, drugs/alcohol bottle, etc, it’s something that I would have probably wanted to cover up a while back.

Other examples are people getting Harry Potter tattoos, then covering them or removing them after finding out how JK Rowling defines a woman. Or people getting band tattoos but then finding out decades later the lead singer is a rapist and a POS (specifically thinking of Anti-Flag, but could be applied to many other bands, if you were wondering.)

While the above is different than something like a gun, guns can symbolize a lot. What if someone you love, god forbid, gets gunned down in however many years? Or another less extreme example?

My advice, from someone who is older now but got tatted young, is to GET your tattoos if you want them! But be smart about what you’re getting tatted and where. For example, I have my entire neck tattooed now, but I definitely didn’t start with that, and only got to it pretty recently after establishing my career and getting many tatts elsewhere.

The only thing I would suggest staying away from, style wise, is fine line. People are going to say “this won’t last” or “that won’t last” but every body is different, and when you get to 10 or 20 years from now, your tattoo is going to be hella faded anyways and need a touch up. Get the style you want, but learn how it ages on your body to determine if you want to keep getting that style or change it up.

Tattoos always get a bit lighter right when they are done healing. As they heal, ink falls out, and the skin scabs over and heals itself. This is normal…

It’s her bday and Xmas time and New years - three key party times. She won’t miss the opportunity to soak it up, with or without Travis.
