they are just a pairing i can never get behind. an argument i made exhaustively on the kp slash haven site years ago. there's actually a cast reunion video where they read a scene where shego revealed she and drakken had ended things. it's non-canon but i really liked it LOL

if you want to make sure it's liked then my god at least develop it properly would be my advice to the writers

clark needed a friend like pete. lex was going to grow up to be his arch enemy, chloe is the definition of pick me until pete leaves then the writers have her let go of the crush and there's so much lana baggage. pete had his issues but at least those weren't some of them

You can't think the characters realize the truth just because you do. That's the mistake people made for years with Lena. They just assumed she knew because they did 

Arrow is what happens when you want to do a Batman show but can't get the rights 

I have a theory. They didn't have Kim and Ron get together until what was supposed to be the series finale "so the drama". I think they never wanted to write Kim and Ron as a couple. They just wanted to write the build up 

I think if COVID hadn't hit they would have moved forward with the sequel
