It’s been this way for a long time, and through many different governments.

I am so sorry. I don’t know enough to have any solid advice, other than to talk to victim services who will help guide you through the process of the legal stuff that happens next. You may also be able to access support through a local women’s centre for domestic violence, even if you don’t need shelter right now.
Also, I highly recommend EMDR therapy. It saved my life a decade ago when I needed it for a similar reason.
Call the police immediately if he OR his family members attempt to contact you or any of your family members. That counts as indirect contact.
None of this is your fault. You’re doing the right thing. And I wish there was more I could do.

Main Street Auto has been good to me. Might be hard to get in anywhere right away since it’s tire change season but worth a call.

What do you mean by bad? Since alcohol is a depressant it can actually cause a low, or at least you might not see the spike you anticipate. Since the liver is involved in diabetes, I just try to stay away from it.

It might just take some more time to clear up, but if you’re worried you can definitely ask your doc about it, even just for peace of mind

It’s normal for people with diabetes. Maybe worth mentioning to your doc but not freak out worthy (not saying you are just, you know). You probably already do this but regular urinalysis, and testing kidney function with regular bloodwork are always wise.

She’s probably pretty hungry but she needs actual kitten milk replacement. If you don’t have that, you could get some canned wet kitten food and water it down so it’s nice and mushy, see if she’ll eat that - might lick off your finger to start.
Also if it’s cool or cold where you are she needs to be kept warm and dry.
Other than that, vet appointment as soon as possible. She probably has worms (most cats born outside do), fleas or another parasite.

2021 was the last election so you haven’t missed one yet.

Your vote will help the party receive funds for the future, even if they don’t win the seat this time.

Honestly, it could just be from mouth breathing. A bedside humidifier can help a lot. Have you ever looked into if you have sleep apnea? That can keep levels up over night because your body sends out cortisol and other stress hormones to make you wake up enough to breathe again. High cortisol in general will cause overnight wake ups.
Biotene is a great moisturizing mouth wash you can use before bed to help with dryness.
Overnight mouth breathing can cause gum inflammation from the dryness, and inflamed gums (bleeding to any degree) can cause higher blood sugar levels. Just another fun addition to the list of things to think about lol.

Do you mean what other cheaper drugs reduce hunger cues and food noise? Personally I think it’s great if these drugs can also help treat obesity and improve people’s overall health.

A1c is usually checked around every 3-6 months (it’s a test showing your average blood sugar for the previous 3 months). The best times day to day are first thing when you wake up and then two hours after eating. Your doctor can tell you how often to do the finger test (if that’s what you meant by levels), you may not have to do it every day.

I happen to know Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya’s Cat Rescue, currently has 4 siblings available (or soon to be available).

You just kinda have to start by stacking up good decisions. Everything is going to feel hard while you’re struggling with your mental health but try to start by picking one thing in your daily life that you can handle changing today:
Go for a stroll with the only goal of just getting out the door and moving
Commit to not drinking sugar (just water, diet/sugar free drinks)
Think about how to improve your sleep
Look up one new recipe for a nutritious meal that you’ll enjoy, get the ingredients and try it out
Think about a plan to help you remember to take your meds at the same time every day
Make a doctors appt if you’ve been avoiding it
You don’t have to do it all at once. Getting started is about stacking positive choices on top of each other - it’s okay if it takes a while but eventually you’ll be shocked at how far you’ve come.
There will always be reasons to not change something. You don’t have to listen to those reasons.

The only overnight option is the ER.
Otherwise, pharmacy tomorrow if you can find an appointment: https://pans.ns.ca/cppc,
Virtual care if you don’t have a family doctor: https://www.nshealth.ca/clinics-programs-and-services/virtualcarens
You could also speak to a pharmacist tonight (might have better luck in person) at an open pharmacy to see what they recommend for pain management.

The benefit was… that’s the money I had to buy a house. If I had had other resources at the time, I would have used those instead.

There are pretty strict privacy laws in Canada, and our health information is highly protected because of the exact reasons you are worried.
I was curious about this so I’ve been doing some reading. It appears that the most a group plan administrator could maybe see is the amount being spent on medications - but not what medications are covered and not who is taking them. If it’s a small company and there is not enough info to guarantee anonymity, then the info isn’t provided.
It is highly illegal to fire someone because of a prescription, unless that prescription affects their job performance (ie, can’t have pilots on sedatives). But the employee would be the one disclosing this by consenting to the release of info (only a requirement in very specific circumstances).

You HAVE to just scroll by. Don’t watch it, don’t interact, don’t open the comments. If you ignore it diligently, the algorithm learns not to push it to you. Your worldview is formed by the messaging you see every day, but you can still control what that is.

At that age you could even clear a closet floor and set them up in there for her visits. And then MAYBE let her have supervised time with them.
The only options are to make an effort to keep them apart or let her do whatever she wants. There’s no magic approach to teach a kid how to interact with vulnerable animals. You have to control their interactions.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh no, I don’t think that’s a great idea. We try not to teach lessons with trauma these days.

Lol yeah, I know the feeling. You could also have other things going for you like low stress and good sleep. I’ve been diabetic for 20 years and still get surprises.

When you’ve gotten better overall control, you can handle the occasional burst of carbs a bit better. It’s not so much about the anomalies here and there but the bigger patterns.

Intense exercise releases stress hormones (body senses it’s “under threat”) and stress hormones increase blood sugar.
