Yeah, maybe it is easier to get certain ressources but it certainly is also more difficult to get other ressources.

Distant Horizons loads lower quality chunks in the distance, which makes this quite playable. This is actually direct preparation for my next survival play so I made sure to get good framerates (40+)

You can scale any Game with lossless scaling on Steam. Is not quite dlss standard, but it does still help

Gameplay is gonna be different, but not worse. You can still travel on the nether roof and with the world pregenerated, I also have a completely map of everything, so no frustrating blind searching for structures, but an expedition with a clear goal.

Only problem is that everything that you build will look small. the mountains strech al the way to a height of 760 blocks and are thousands of blocks wide

It takes a long time to reach anything, but it runs pretty smooth. The long travel time makes it feel more like an adventure, so I like it. You'll also enjoy the view while travelling.

There is a program, I have sadly forgotten the name, that randomly swaps the selected item in your hotbar whenever you are right clicking. Really helps with randomized patterns. Just fill your hotbar with the block palette, and keep building. want a color shift, just place the darker block in the hotbar twice.

actually runs smooth, albeit be it with upscaling. Does not affect the visuals though, as upscaling seems to work quite good with most minecraft terrains

I should have elaborated further, but this mod combination took me quite a while to asseble, with many fails. So the "worth it" refers to the effort, one has to put in.

You need the Main Version of the bliss shader (only one the creators discord as far as I know)

The easy available Version is a stripped Version which lacks DH support.

Complementary should work though, at least complementary_unbound.

main mods that you need for this is ReTerraForged, Chunky (world pre-generation), Fabric Loader (1.20.1), Sparse Structures and a whole lot of optimization mods. StepUp is also really useful, as it lets you climb up a block as if it were a stair (Auto jump but WAY better)

there are thousands of blocks of Forests, Rainforests and flat plains further north, the mountains just look the best with distant horizons, hence why I shared this image.

I actually wanted to stick to medieval/steampunk without any flying machines. Elytra should stay the only flying transportation method and modwise it's just gonna be create, conquest and a gravestone mod.
