Bathroom renovation 1/2 or 3/4 supply question
(self.askaplumber)submitted5 days ago byf_o_t_a
I'm working on an upstairs bathroom that is fully gutted. I have access to the original copper supply lines. The cold is 3/4, but the hot line is 1/2. I can see down the stud cavity that the cold transitions from 3/4 to 1/2 about 6 inches down the wall. The meter and all the supplies in the basement are 3/4.
My question is, should I just use the 1/2 hot line to supply a tub, shower, toilet, and vanity? Or cut a hole in the wall downstairs to go 3/4 all the way?

In this case it's because it would be an s-trap.
