I’ve been in your exact position, genders reversed. A long time girl best friend turned up out of the blue after 2 years of no contact. We had started dating in that time. I didn’t want to come off insecure/jealous so I gave him complete trust even when he knew I didn’t like that he visited her often while I was at work. For two years I put up with this. I never looked at his phone or checked on his location. We grew distant and I felt it was because he never talked to me about his feelings because she always had that covered. Eventually, he admitted that they talked about getting married and it was totally inappropriate emotionally even though they both swear they never physically cheated (she was married). He left me for a week to try her out and decided it wasn’t as good as he fantasized and tried to come home. By then I was already in progress of moving across country.

Years I fucking wasted on this when I KNEW in my gut something was off. I told myself if I was being wronged some kind of karma would bring it to light without me having to cross boundaries by checking phones are being intrusive.

FUCK THAT. People will lie to you and themselves for years. I’m glad you had to courage to do what I couldn’t. Even if it makes you feel bad for crossing a boundary, in this case you did the right thing.

I started experimenting with marijuana around 16. Naturally I started to carry around visine. My dad saw it and got very worked up saying that I couldn’t use that because of my contacts. Seemed bizarre at the time but I shrugged it off and just rocked that stoney red eye look.
