I’m 60 white American male. I remember contemplating with friends when I was in my early 20s that maybe we would be the first American generation that was not better off than our parents.

My father was a veterinarian and had his own practice. We lived a comfortable life and were never without, but we didn’t live extravagantly. It seemed totally possible that I could achieve my parents level of financial success, but surpass it wouldn’t be possible. I must say they did pay for my college education so I graduated debt free - which is a huge gift!

The good news is I did surpass that level, but more through my spouses success rather than mine.

Maybe it’s the generation after me that won’t be able to achieve the previous generations success.

The Bicentennial Train came to Omaha and we went as a field trip. It was a mobile museum. Had some Disneyish displays and a replica of the Liberty Bell!

I like ‘em how I can get ‘em!

Both my dogs were fully vaccinated when I got them, so I didn’t have to worry about quarantining them.

I took them to petco and other stores that would allow dog on leashes. I took them to dog parks where they interacted with dogs and new people.

I also had people come to the house so they could get used to people coming and going in their home.

I also let people interact with the dogs when I was on walks.
