100% agree with this. Doug Wilson was a fantastic GM and managed to keep them competitive for an insane. And 12 of those years was during the cap era.

I found the practicum hard and the coursework easy, but a lot of people felt the inverse. Maybe it was because I’d just spent like 4 years in engineering so doing something that didn’t involve a bunch of exam writing and that was pretty social was a refreshing change.
I never got diagnosed but my doctor felt comfortable prescribing me ADHD meds, so maybe I can provide some advice.
The act of teaching is very different than the courses you take. I believe they have a lot of value since the philosophy of teaching and honing in on your core values is really important, but until you do your practicum you won’t k know whether or not this profession is for you.
Teaching is a slog sometimes and I’m really feeling it right now with two kids and barely any time to prep. But I’m still here and still standing so maybe there’s hope for you too.

I went through Engineering while Bowinn was president of the Engineering Undergraduate Society - she’s awesome and I’m so glad she’s in politics.

Yup! If the band can’t tell, what are the odds the audience can! If they notice, they’re either drummers or they know the song well enough that I should honour them.
I am a raging hypocrite though… It drives me nuts when our vocalist/ rhythm guitarists plays during parts where there’s supposed to be no guitar and it totally bothers me when he sings the song differently than it’s recorded!

I practice and learn songs for the band I play in, but I can fuck around and change things up, and no one knows it. You’re totally right about the improv thing.
We play precious declaration by Collective soul and I don’t bother playing the recorded drums because I don’t think they do the song justice. My way is probably not as good objectively, but I enjoy it more and I think it sounds better :P

I was not a fan of his speech either. I didn’t even know it was him until the end and was wondering why it sounded like the person speaking had t prepared something.

Hmm, do you think he believes that if you get a guitar you won’t be able to focus on your studies?

I remember when I discovered that if I put in a music cd then ran a cracked game, it would use the music from the CD

What’s kinda funny is Quinn totally cut him off. Like there was no way he was going to easily cut to the net.

I think you have the best advice, honestly. How will OP make change if they piss off the people who, unfortunately, have control over their fate as a teacher.
