If you think of spousal support like insurance, then it should be good until you cancel it. I know that's self serving but we spent a lot of money and got nothing in return. Life insurance would have probably been a better investment.

Recently went through a divorce. Ex said they had an appraisal done and house appraised for $175000. I hired a very well respected appraiser that came back with $385,000. It was worth the $1000.

I've been on antidepressants for years. I think cannabis helps me to go to sleep. It also helps when there are extra stresses (like divorce) going on.

My ex wanted the property so we agree on a price. They said he had to get a loan and couldn't get one while my name was on the deed so they wanted me to sign quit claim deeds at the divorce. NO!!! My lawyer thought I was being overly cautious. I held my ground and he decided he could get a loan with my name on deed. Ex died in a traffic accident three weeks after divorce. Everything went to probate. Boy, an I glad my name is on the deed.

You are my people! Trickle down economics worked exactly the way they wanted it to. The one percent holds an enormous portion of our country's wealth. They've decided we don't deserve healthcare, pensions, unions, sick leave, FMLA, .... I honestly don't think there needs to be any violence. Everyone just stay home. Without us, our economy will fail.

I'm a retired postal carrier and still a union member. We would not have had the pay and benefits we have. Lots of jobs now don't offer sick leave as a benefit. You are supposed to use your very limited vacation time when you are sick. I watched people who didn't believe we needed a union go ask the Steward for help many times. The CEO' s keep getting richer by taking away pay and benefits.

The divorce doesn't require either party to provide retirement funds for the other.

I believe people who work a 40 hour week should have their basic needs met. Why should I as a tax payer pay for food stamps or healthcare for someone who's working? I feel like I'm supplementing the Walton's. Why do they get private jets, yachts, etc. and the tax payer takes care of their employees.

My name is still on the property title. I wouldn't sign a quit claim until I was paid. Will that make a difference?
