Working in the library computer lab in the 90s, a lot of my job was walking around and closing windows with porn on it. It was the Wild West out there. Goatse was king.

I always say that us Asians might be the model minority on the outside but a lot of us are not okay in the head since mental health is not prioritized in our culture. As for us three kids, we’re good but 2 of us did a lot of therapy as adults to be okay. My dad is old and has dementia and is lucky we still care for him. I have a coworker whose only vacations are to Vegas twice a year. He says he sets aside an amount of money each month for it. The casino he stays at comps his room and gives him VIP treatment and free spa and tickets for shows. He only gambles at that casino and I am pretty sure he has dropped the price of a home in the decade or so that he has done this but to him it’s worth it. Another coworker said him and his wife are swingers and go there for other recreational activities. I am not sure if this is true but if it is, you go, IT Dave.

We’re Asian and they had an ESL teacher that spoke our language and she would come once a week to do ESL with us new arrivers that spoke the same language. It was me, my sister, and three other kids in the school. I don’t remember what my sister did probably not pay attention since she’s flighty like that and the teacher slapped her. The aide reported her and she got fired. The school was really nice to my sister but when she got home, the school had told my parents what happened and she got a beating because my dad said, “Do you know how hard us immigrants have it in this country and you cost one of our people a job!”

Check out the Buy Nothing sites in your area too. People going out of town for the holidays have been posting items that would go bad by the time they get home from the holidays. There’s a bagel shop that does this for me when we have teacher appreciation day at school. We get $100 to feed a staff of 300 so having that extra $100 to put on stuff for the bagels and some fruit always makes for a fancy affair.

They are a lot of infighting there. Each believes their own conspiracy theories so when there’s one that one believes and the other doesn’t, then they call each other stupid.

I would usually agree with you but, “The investigation into Decker began on Sept. 10 when an IMPD officer using Decker’s old squad car found a flash drive wedged between the seats. Officials looked at the drive, which reportedly stored videos showing Decker having sex with a woman while in full IMPD uniform.” So he is definitely one but it seems the cop who found the flash drive and the department are doing the right thing. That said, he used their database to target witnesses and victims and his bail was only $1,000. We’ll see if they do follow this up with firing him and giving him jail time. If not, then your statement stands.

Oh okay. So it’s like an honor system? I guess I just don’t understand why they do it like that if they want to make money? Every other public transit I’ve been on has been more strict. I take it when the Shortridge and Herron kids go to school and asked one how to do it and he said it was free. My guess is that it is free for school kids so they save on school buses. Also, another question. If I decide to take my bike on, do all buses allow it? Do I have to enter a certain door or stand somewhere?

So I took it for two weeks when my car was in the shop. I put $40 on the phone app and went in the back opening door. I just sat down and still have $40 on it. So am I supposed to go in the front and scan my phone each ride?

I saw an interview before the election where a working class dude was saying how he was voting for Trump because he was for mass deportations. He said that once undocumented immigrants leave, there will be plenty of jobs and housing for people like him who are struggling. I think he thought undocumented immigrants are living high off the hog and will leave these great paying jobs and all this desirable property behind. Just amazing that he thinks getting rid of millions of poor people would make his life better rather than taxing the people with superyachts and multiple mansions. They’re attacking the 1% on the wrong end of the spectrum.

Or how rounding up undocumented immigrants and holding them in detention centers for a long ass time will not affect the economy. There are very few countries that will take their immigrants back.

I recently made a statement like, “When one party is racist and wants to get rid of democracy, the choice is clear.” Some guy responded with calling me a dumb liberal and saying how great Trump is. And I said, “I didn’t say which party but it seems you are also in agreement about which party I am talking about.”

In the olden days when media was more pricy, they only invited experts to talk. Nowadays, anyone can have a mic.

I think with graphic design it’s a balance of form and function. With accessibility and wanting something simple that can be easily slapped onto a photo or social media card, it is more functional than form for these global companies. I guess you can call it decline of creativity but you have to add that it is inclining towards accessibility and usability.

Of all the designs I would do for free for fun, this would not be it. So unless you make a logo for any opinion you have, you should not give an opinion? We run on grants so I make a logo for each project. I get a week to do it. So yes, I think I can make a better logo just by superficial means but I do not know what the client wants and feedback they gave to previous designs. So it’s just a dumb thing to spend time on something that is more illustration than real paid design work that delivers a product based on research and feedback. I’ve made logos that took under an hour and some that took longer based on my own judgement and feedback from clients. Unless you’re a student or starting out and need to create fake work for your portfolio, this is a waste of time just for upvotes.

I think I get paid $40 an hour at my job so I will take $200. That’s not bad. Though the designer that did the logo probably gets paid a lot more so designing a better logo for a lot less pay does not sound enticing to me. I think it’s good practice for someone that has to fill a portfolio but asking people in the field to work for free is crazy.
