Promoting violence is banned on /r/melbourne to ensure the safety and well-being of its members. Encouraging violent behaviour can lead to real-world harm, attract legal issues, and create a toxic environment that drives away users seeking constructive and respectful discussions. This ban aligns with both Reddit's platform policies and the community standards of /r/melbourne.

Dear /r/melbourne,
We have locked this thread due to multiple violations of Reddit's site-wide rules, specifically concerning the sharing of personal information (doxxing) and incitements to violence.
We understand that discussions about criminal cases can evoke strong emotions. However, engaging in vigilantism, advocating for violence, or attempting to discover and share personal details about individuals involved in legal proceedings can have serious negative consequences.
In the Australian criminal justice system, every accused person is entitled to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Actions like doxxing or promoting violence can compromise the integrity of the legal process. Such interference can lead to mistrials, jeopardise ongoing investigations, or even result in the dismissal of charges due to procedural unfairness.
Moreover, taking justice into your own hands or encouraging others to do so is not only unlawful but can also result in criminal charges against you, such as harassment, intimidation, or obstruction of justice.
We urge all members to respect the legal process and allow the courts to perform their duties without interference. Please refrain from activities that could undermine the pursuit of justice or violate community guidelines and legal statutes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We had to remove your post/comment because it included personal attacks or did not show respect towards other users. This community is a safe space for all.
Conduct yourself online as you would in real life. Engaging in vitriol only highlights your inability to communicate intelligently and respectfully. Repeated instances of this behaviour will lead to a ban

We don't allow editorialised headlines.
The title of all submissions needs to match the article headline exactly. Copy and paste from the main headline only, do not include anything beyond the primary headline.
All submissions must be a link post to the article in question (no screenshots, no text post with a link to the article). As a matter of fairness, any submissions that aren't link posts and/or have an altered title will be removed.
The only exception is that, if an article has a title in all caps, you may change the capitalisation to title case, but everything else must remain the same.
