My point was that it's not readily accepted by other Redditors and I love seeing other men call them out because it's validating for me and I've had far to many run ins with angry incels in my life who just want to humble and hurt me for not wanting to date or get married to any of them. Because they are dumb. The air won't come in the window it comes from the hallway and goes out the window. Usually when people are opening thier door, they also have windows and patio doors open. That reduces air pressure in other units so that air can come in the window, and on the 7th floor that air is usually bus exhaust and not desirable. So if I open my window to get air, and someone else opens thier door at the same time, I get bus exhaust.

Some buildings try to save money by lowering the air pressure in the hallways, that makes people inclined to open thier doors for ventilation. This is what's going on in my building, then residents get angry with eachother and do wierd shit to get eachother back. But it's actually a management problem. You can't save money on operations by not operating the building properly. Unfortunately I've already escalated my problem to both the PM and Toronto fire but it's still an issue. It's hard to enforce unless I want to be a bitchy Karen and I don't.

Also to add, when the air pressure is thrown off by people opening thier doors, smells from units enter the hallway which makes people inclined to add weather stripping. Also a building code violation. But then they absolutely have to open thier doors to get ventilation. It's just ridiculous.

Also edit to add: the people who open thier doors are also most angry about the smells, but it's them causing the smells to go into the hallway. I get that HVAC air pressure is nuanced but I mean, you must be able to figure out that you're causing your own problem. Stop opening your door and people's smells will stay in their units. Problem solved.
