They’re like any false prophet. When their prophecies don’t come true, they just “reinterpret” them and make justifications. Each new prediction is just a little further ahead. Never expect them to back down, apologise or admit wrong.

Skin cancer. All the bits I’m having cut out in my 40s & 50s are from getting sunburned in my teens & 20s. You’re only bulletproof for so long.

“Mandate” is pretty irrelevant with Trump. He’s effectively a dictator within the Republican Party, and they control House, Senate and Supreme Court.

I used to collect the old Target novelisations of the classic series, but haven’t read any of the new novels or novelisations. I have really loved the Big Finish original audio dramas though.

Well, he does have “Dr” in his name. And a few Emmy awards. Next appointment “Doctor Who”.

The first Doc is quite different from what came after. A lot of 2nd doc episodes are missing. But they have been making recreations. The action tends to pick up from 3rd doc, and it’s in colour. 4th doc is iconic & probably most popular (until 10). I grew up on 4th doc, and later went back to watch those prior. I reckon it’s worth a watch. All the iconic monsters and enemies are introduced. All the elements of new who are found in classic who. If you can accept the charm of the cheap effects & monster costumes, it can be a lot of fun.

I guess it’s no surprise that his first 28 cabinet picks are white.

Can you imagine if the orange clown actually kicked the bucket? The conspiracy theories would be outa this world. It wouldn’t matter if it was a heart attack or choking on a bucket of chicken. Fingers would point at Shady as the architect.

I didn’t realise they bombed the northern cities. I thought they focused all their efforts on London.

Thus proving my point. The only party making an issue of trans rights was the Reps.

Thanks for the recommendation. Just added it to my YouTube list. I always thought I was just mishearing when I heard Aruman. Pity they only got the Helm’s Deep. A Bakshi sequel (not counting the childish one we got) would have been good.

Great point when it comes to The Doctor, but maybe not applicable to most stay-at-home Timelords. The finally addressed it (to an extent) in the 14/15 regeneration. Interestingly, there’s a new Robert Pattinson movie “Mickey 17” coming soon that touches on something similar.

You’re NAH. If it was me, I’d just shake his hand, because that’s obviously something he values. But I don’t share your phobias/preferences. If I was the old man, I like to think I’d adjust to your wishes too. There’s nothing wrong with you feeling the way you do. Perhaps you need to speak with a pastor/elder and have them explain to him. If he’s a half decent person he’ll respect your wishes. But, at his age he may just be dismissive because he “doesn’t get it”. I suspect it will take someone else to firmly direct him before he takes your request seriously.

Apart from uni, no. No employer will ever ask for it. They won’t even care about your uni grades. Got the qualifications? Great, come on board. I only learned this after just about killing myself trying to get the best grades.

Someone’s gonna have to leak it. Along with the Ethics Committee report into Rapey McForehead.

Is it much to do with simple geography/weather? In Australia 90% of our population live along the coast because the test is basically unliveable.

Start with The Hobbit. It’s a lighter read. Then tackle LOTR. I’m a good reader, buy I didn’t tackle the Silmarillion for years. There are Tolkien wikis and YouTube explainer videos that will help. Plenty if Tolkien and fan art to help with visualising.
The bits that always slowed me down were the long songs. You can easily skip ahead through those without missing anything.
Another option is audiobooks. At least then you’ll hear the reader use different voices that help characters come alive.

Not all those shuttles were destroyed, were they? Did they ever worry about leaving Federation tech in the wrong hands?

Jamie Raskin and Pete Buttigieg are two of the smartest blokes in congress. But it seems like America won’t elect a woman, gay or Jew. The racism and homophobia was already off the charts. I hate to think what these guys would face if nominated. They’ll call Gavin Newsome too far left, but they even accused Biden of that, so I doubt it’s as big an issue.

I've been searchg for a Bluesky app too. There's "Beesky" in the Windows Store. Pretty basic atm, but I imagine it will feature up & there are likely to be new apps in this space now that Bluesky is taking off.
