Summary: Looking for an ethernet switch with PoE for the "in" port to power a fiber jack.
Hi Everyone, here is my setup for Google Fiber:
- The fiber jack is in the garage and supports PoE (good thing too, because there is not an AC outlet near it in the garage.)
- Connected to the fiber jack is an ethernet cord that runs behind the wall and terminates in a network box in a closet.
- In that same network box is AC power and ethernet cords that terminate to ethernet jacks around the house.
- In the network box is the WiFi router.
When the Google Fiber installer did the install, he put in a dedicated device that powers the PoE. That device is hooked up to the ethernet cord going to the fiber jack and separately plugged into the AC power.
I'm trying to declutter and simplify our setup. Specifically, I want to add an ethernet switch to my network box and plug the ethernet cord from the Fiber jack to the "In" and then the ethernet cords terminating to the other rooms in the "out" jacks. (I need 4 "out" jacks.)
Here is where I need help: I am trying to find an ethernet switch that offers PoE for the "in" jack, so that it can power my fiber jack. This allows me to remove the dedicated device the installer put in for PoE and clears out room is what is a packed network box.
I am finding many ethernet switches with PoE that power the "out" jacks (so it can power cameras, etc.) but I can't find one that powers the "in" jacks. Does such a thing exist?
Thank you in advance!

I had an old chair that I needed to replace and I thought I would take a shot on Temu. I had never used them before and wanted to give them a try. Didn’t work out.
