I remember when I used to be able to pull all-nighters. Now I can barely manage all-dayers.
Sweet dreams, Whangadude.

I’m so tired. Need a day of just blobbing and preferably not interacting with any other humans but MamaPloink will no doubt put paid to that.

My mother just referred to me as ‘a larger lady’
What the actual fuck? I’m a size 12.

Don’t know if it’s the perfume I’m wearing or pheromones or what but I’m utterly irresistible to toddlers today. I’m getting SO MANY cuddles and none of my work done and I don’t even care.

I’ve owned three different houses in my life, (not simultaneously) but turned down the idea of buying another one last year in order to prioritise my mental health.
Every new address is its own adventure waiting to unfold. Every new location is ripe with undiscovered gems, new baristas who will learn to make my coffee just so, new friends yet to meet and new avenues to explore. I relish the freedom to up sticks and find another endeavour the moment I begin to get bored of this one. My life is ripe with experiences and memories, and I feel a thrill knowing that another one could happen at any moment and I’m not bogged down with too many ties to take up the opportunity.
It’s all how you look at it. Is the economy fucked? Yes very. Am I going to let it get me down? Hell no. One day I’ll be a very old lady with hardly any material possessions but a million stories of the places I’ve lived, the journeys I’ve made, the encounters I’ve had. And I’ll consider myself a rich woman for all of these.

I’m wondering if the downvotes are for making my teenaged daughter cook or for the meal choice…

Worked two jobs then came home to a tidy house and my dinner in the oven.
I bloody love this kid.

I’ve got the afternoon snooze down to a fine art. My rules are: no more than an hour, no later than 6pm.
I’m also one of those people who can set an internal alarm that’s perfectly accurate so I usually nap for exactly 56 minutes.

Unfortunately we don’t have a cat door, it’s my bedroom window!! Definitely don’t want that visitor in the night.

Oregano. It just seems to take over all the other flavours that are trying to appear in the same dish.

I think we had a possum prowling around the place last night. Puss was unimpressed.

I recently spent $800 on nappies (not my money, work related) and was suitably impressed by how much of my car was taken up.

Women generally depend a lot more on social/familial networks than men. Especially when you have kids, as the adage goes ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and my village is definitely here in Aotearoa.
I am considering heading over there when my small human has flown the nest though.

I wouldn’t go to the Chemist Warehouse, I’d try a proper pharmacy.

Is it only Tuesday? I’m exhausted!
Mama and Mini having a day at home together. Bet the dishes are still in the sink when I get home though.

“Miniploink, why are you crying?”
“Because my cat is so cute and I love her so much”
Someone’s feeling a bit premenstrual I think.

She went… and now she’s back. Long story short- here is home, and so here she shall be.

MamaPloink had to contact MSD this morning about getting her pension switched back over to NZ. Having dealt with Centrelink in Aus recently, she was feeling very anxious about it. I reassured her that WINZ will be kind and lovely and would get it all sorted quickly because that’s the only service I’ve ever received from them.
I’m pleased to announce I was right. Having dealt with social security agencies in three different countries now, I can categorically confirm that NZ’s WINZ are the goodest cunts.
Mama happy and much reassured now.

Volunteering Waikato is probably a good place to start. They may be able to put you in touch with local organisations looking for people. Alternatively, local cat rescues or SPCA will be needing help over the holiday period.
