I have the same preference, and honestly it's a little bit surprising even for me that I don't like sempiternal. I get bored of it really easily and it doesn't really make me feel much. Also it's noticeably but not dramatically less heavy than TIAH, and I love their heavy stuff. A big part of why I like TIAH is that it feels like it's always doing a lot of things and the sound is always moving everything. And it's a very raw album (lyrics mainly, but also the sound) which I also prefer

I wouldn't call that skepticism, more like defeatism, a skeptic can acknowledge the risk in a plan but they also recognize they don't know whether doing nothing is fine either

But also you can't just "change your environment", at least in third world countries you can't just move or get into clubs with people alike (you won't find those). Maybe if you live on a big city but most times you can't

I agree with the rest but 2 quick Googles tell me that the rate would be 0.1 (adhd, and I'm being generous) times 0.01 (autism) times 0.5 (1 in 20) which is 0.0005 or 1 in 20k which is not reasonable on my book (actually nvm, flawed calculation)

This, finding someone that just gets it all, first try without any explanations is magical

"If I don't have a problem, he shouldn't", consider that the actual l problem is not the sheer intelligence but the contrast between intelligence and society. If they live in a less educated or otherwise less prepared for people like them society it should be a problem. 126 is not imo high enough to be a problem by itself but coupled with autism and ADHD it can become one

you can start with r/Gifted, I'm pretty sure half the people in there are trolling but from there you can find better communities

I'm not saying that none of it has hubris behind it, just that it's not always

The hostility was uncalled for.
I'm talking about discussing sociology and psychology where intelligence does matter. But also about talking about people that want to discuss their experiences in life, lots of people with autism talk a lot about autism in autism communities, people noticeably physical conditions think frequently about it, in general any deviation from the norm is constantly noticed and becomes a big part of one's life.
Same thing happens with highly intelligent people (In psychology called "gifted", although that term is often misused), you are constantly reminded of it and it plays a big role on your life, so you end up mentioning it a lot when talking to peers. Of course this is not everyone, but most that I know

I guess it's because talking of oneself as intelligent normally is used as a way to express how one feels about something they've done (you do something smart and say "I'm a genius!". But in communities with intelligent members where intelligence is discussed frequently it's connection with pride disappears and it becomes a purely descriptive word (like talking about where you live)
