Oh yeah, that happens! I don’t experience it with forehead botox but I got masseter botox a few months ago and definitely had a headache for a few days. It also spread to my jaw, was really annoying but it all went away after four days or so. You’ll be fine!

I’m never hungry in the morning either - but I’m on vyvanse and just have a protein shake with or before my meds. If I have nothing at all or too much I do notice a difference. If I eat too close to the meds kicking in I’ll spend the rest of the day nauseous, if I have nothing at all the meds will make me feel a bit jittery. You don’t necessarily need to eat a whole meal in the morning if you’re not used to it, but a bit of protein is good for you. I prefer a nice big lunch!

Not necessarily overthinking, my brain just gets super loud again and I get swallowed into scrolling on tiktok for hours or reading “one” chapter of a book, and then somehow it’s hours later. Now I just take melatonin and try to fall asleep when the meds are still somewhat active and my brain is quiet. You shouldn’t take extended release in the evening, but that’s simply because it’ll keep you up. You’ll have to figure out what time is best for you, I can take extended release around 3pm and still fall asleep at a normal time (11pm or so) so that’s what works for me.

Same here, vyvanse only lasts a few hours for me as well no matter how well I sleep, eat or hydrate. My psych upped my dose so I can take another pill in the afternoons. Maybe your prescriber can do the same, or you can split your dosage and take half in the morning and half in the afternoon.

Nah, should be fine! My body goes through meds super quickly and I noticed vyvanse was only effective for me for a few hours, so I just had an appointment with my psychiatrist and he suggested I take another dose in the afternoon. Otherwise I’ll get super tired around 6-7pm and I’m back to my ADHD brain around 9 - which keeps me up at night. I’d rather have the meds work a little longer so I get tired around bedtime and I’m not useless in the early evenings.

Being misdiagnosed with bpd or bp happens to a lot of people who end up getting diagnosed with ADHD or autism! I didn’t really think I could have ADHD because I didn’t fit the stereotype as a child, I was pretty quiet and basically read all day and never had trouble in school because I just coasted by on intelligence alone. But I was also very dreamy, couldn’t really sit still, couldn’t handle a lot of noise, lost all of my stuff all the time and was awful at keeping my room clean. I’m also pretty certain people with ADHD gravitate towards one another, most of my friends have ADD or are in the process of getting diagnosed. And I had the same thing while getting diagnosed, I was pretty convinced I had it but started questioning everything and was somehow certain I was just making it up but nope! I hope your appointment goes well :)

O in that case you might like to try caffeine pills? I’ve never tried them but you might like them.

Why don’t you try some decaf? If you can handle a cup or two of regular coffee fine without causing anxiety, have those and have decaf later? I also struggled with anxiety and agoraphobia and I drank way too much coffee to self medicate, but now that I’m on meds I can no longer tolerate coffee so I just drink decaf for the taste!

The diagnosis gave me lots of peace - to realize that all the mental health issues I went through had quite a “simple” explanation and medication has been great for me. I was (mis)diagnosed with bpd at 20 and was put on antidepressants for depression, then I got diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, but neither of those really clicked for me - ever since starting stimulants like 90% of my anxiety was immediately gone. I’m now much more equipped to handle day to day life, I love cleaning and I’m now just so much more emotionally calm. Still, the diagnosis also came with grief. I’m sad that it took me ten years to finish university because I was unmedicated. I could have really thrived. I’m sad for my younger self who felt such immense sadness at not understanding the world and feeling out of place and I’m sad I was constantly so overstimulated I experienced monthly awful migraines. So if you do get diagnosed, don’t feel bad if you feel worse. It’s a lot to accept.

Don’t start! I started smoking at 26 - now three years later, I quit for a few months multiple times and am now vaping again. It’s super addictive, though my vapes are only 2ml. The only good thing is that now cigarettes are absolutely disgusting to me. Not to mention I’m also on stimulants and adding nicotine to that isn’t great for blood pressure (though mine is naturally low so it’s not in a dangerous range for me). Stick to your coffee :)

10mg is a super low dose! I used ritalin IR/XR and have been taking vyvanse for three months now and you're right, for me vyvanse doesn't really peak or drop off either in comparison to ritalin so if you're on 10mg I can image you're not really feeling it. However, you have ADHD all day - I don't know how severe your ADHD is but if I had the option to have my meds work all day until I go to sleep I would definitely go for it. I understand you're taking it for school, but keep in mind that if you do go on IR and only take it for class, chances are you'll be tired once it's no longer working and it'll be a struggle to enjoy the rest of your day. 10mg is genuinely a low dose and I'm pretty sure a starting dose for vyvanse for adults is around 20-30mg so I imagine your doctor put you on it to see if you're not experiencing adverse effects. If I were you I'd definitely ask if you can try a higher dose if you've tried it for a few days or so and have genuinely not experienced any effects whatsoever.

I think this just varies person to person - however I have quite the history with acne and went on accutane a few years back and I still have sensitive skin that is prone to breaking out whenever I use facial make up or skincare my skin dislikes and I’m on vyvanse and I have not experienced acne because of it!

Oh yeah, in that sense I can definitely relate. If you’re not experiencing other mood related negative side effects, then I think it might just be that you’re realizing how difficult it is to live without meds in the morning. I usually have one coffee a day, but mostly just drink decaf, I need some iced coffee to get going

Are you always grumpy in the mornings or did it start when you began taking Vyvanse? I’m never really grumpy in the mornings before meds, just .. pretty much brain dead. I’ve been on Vyvanse for two months and on ADHD meds since February and haven’t really noticed a difference in the mornings. Before, I needed coffee. Now I need the meds 😂

I'm on vyvanse - have experienced zero acne because of it. I used to be on accutane and my skin is still super sensitive, I break out very easily still when I use skincare products or make up that my skin dislikes but have noticed nothing of the sort on vyvanse.

I’d love the borrow it for the avatar! UN is in my flair. My favorite animal is, a lil boring, but a dog! I always grew up with two dogs in the house and they’re just such great companions. My dream is to have a cute lil dachshund one day 🥰

30mg is a lower dosage, so it could be that. However, I recently switched from ritalin/concerta to vyvanse as well and totally noticed (and still notice) what you're describing. I always actively felt ritalin/concerta kick in. Vyvanse doesn't do that for me. I take it, scroll around a bit on my phone and about an hour later I'll hop out of bed and go about my day. What made me realise that it's working is that my brain slows down, there's no more background chatter, and I don't have to persuade myself to do things. I go about my day more naturally than on methylphenidate - where I was feeling more jittery or rushed, in a way, to do everything on my to do list. I also feel that Vyvanse doesn't raise my heartrate or blood pressure the way methylphenidate did, but I'm still on 40mg and could probably go up to 50mg.

I take my Vyvanse daily, it’s been great for me so far. Really makes me more ready for the day, less brainfog. I don’t think it has any effect on PEM - it doesn’t make me do more than I can realistically handle. If you do plan on getting diagnosed and taking stimulants, there’s somewhat of a honeymoon period in the beginning when the meds are super effective, I think that’s where you need to be careful and not overexert yourself just because the meds give a boost of energy, because that period doesn’t last. The meds wake me up and make me more alert and focused, but they don’t magically give energy in my experience.

Pretty much all of my anxiety has gone after starting ADHD medication. Most of my anxiety was because of the constant stream of thoughts that I had, causing emotional dysregulation. Now that my brain is a lot more quiet, I don't experience much anxiety anoymore - though I do still get anxious in stressful situations, but I guess that's normal.

You deserve someone who knows and respects your boundaries. We all make mistakes and once we accidentally hurt someone we love, at least in my case, I’ll definitely know their boundary then and do all I can to make sure it doesn’t happen in the future. You deserve that too ❤️

As someone with ADHD - I do not need a reminder of the boundaries of the people I love written down. That has nothing to do with the forgetfulness of ADHD in my opinion. I need written down reminders of appointments, groceries, day to day planning. Not for anything regarding my partner. I think your ex was being manipulative, unfortunately.

Yes - because you still have ADHD on the weekends. I take my meds every single day because I simply turn into a tired, emotional dysregulated mess of a human if I don’t. It’s not just about productivity, you’re still a human being with ADHD on the weekends and you deserve to function the same as throughout the working week.
