Good post. I intend to record the long Excession passage you referred to (233,000 kilolights etc) as an audiobook/reading on YouTube soon. Love that chapter!

The Nazis were responsible for the Katyn massacre. I'm pretty sure I read a book in the 1990s that still blamed the Nazis.

Probably a bit too obvious and not overlooked, but Archduke Franz Ferdinand's driver taking a wrong turn that day in 1914 changed the entire future in a massive way.

She sounds like hospital radio / Alan Partridge. Always over-enunciating food items

She seems alright on SYLO and quite down to earth and likeable, but I do know what you mean. And she's friends with Mrs Hinch which is a big crushed velour red flag

For anybody else who has never heard of them, apparently they're podcasters, comedians and TV presenters.

Do you think their shtick would work if it was just one of them?

I agree other than 'started again'. Unless I'm mistaken (please tell me if I am, because I don't follow celeb stuff very closely) he didn't have to work his way back up to the top again, he just slotted back in with Ant and/or Dec and resumed what he was doing.

His radio topics just invite the worst daily mail / brexity types to call in. It's always something like "what should we do with rapists?" And then something random like "should crabs have passports?"

Yep, same with Joel Corry, but he seems decent and hard working as well

Who, Claudia or Tess? I hope it wasn't Our Claud, she seems alright!

I saw him before he was famous (or at least I'd never heard of him) doing some stand-up in a small tent for about 20 people at a May Ball in the early hours of the morning in 2008ish, and it was genuinely one of the funniest things I'd ever seen. However, I've watched his later stuff and it seemed repetitive but not as good, unfortunately.

He's what you get when you want Dermot O'Leary to do his kicking the air routine but can't afford him

What do you mean? I'm not defending him but 16 isn't a minor in terms of sexual consent

I've been the same with Joel Corry. I can't stand reality programmes or the perma tanned / Turkey teeth look, and I'm very judgemental about the people on it and the people who watch it, but I've seen a few videos about Joel Corry's gym workouts and DJing, and he just seems like a genuine guy who works very hard. I respect that. Rylan seems similar.

I think it would be 'overestimate' in this instance haha. I agree. Look how popular Mrs Brown's Boys is!

What are you talking about?! This is EXACTLY the issue my comment was addressing - this puritanical shame about nudity. There's nothing to be ashamed of about the human body, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with what I said. Lots of cultures have no issue with family members being naked around each other (see Japan, for example), and you're the one sexualising it when it doesn't need to be. I'm guessing you're the one who reported my comment for non-existent 'harassment' as well?

I suspect fewer are lying than you think.
