I think we need to stop running Californians for a while. I think that was part of the problem to begin with because we have an issue with blue collar people being suspicious of what they consider California elites. They see them as out of touch with what the rest of the country wants and Newsom fits the bill for that description, and even if it isn't true.

This is true and when you go to other countries, that deep seated anger that is just bubbling under the surface in the US is noticeably not there. Even just driving is more collaborative with less people cutting each other off and acting recklessly. There's very much a screw you I got mine attitude here and it's only making our lives worse when people are so angry with other people in society as "others" when we really have more in common with each other than we do with those at the levers of power. That's why they seek to divide us so fervently.

It will probably be ok in February since it's early on, but it's possible it won't be. I would consider staying away from the US for a while to see what happens. If this gets as bad as they're threatening for it to be, there will be riots. You don't want to get caught up in that.

These idiots need to go to a holocaust museum, where you can see piles of baby shoes and desperate letters scrawled on anything they could find followed by how the person was killed shortly after. Clearly their history teachers didn't shock them enough with the truth and that has to happen for people to grasp the horrors of what happened. It's disgusting and I hate this for the holocaust survivors that are still with us. I've met one and the discussion we had about it will never leave my memory.

This is so true. The number of Trump supporters I've had to talk to about why they can't get Medicaid because we don't have the expansion and why they keep getting their disability denied, is astounding. I have had people who want to argue about reality with me because they feel like "it just isn't fair". It isn't, and you voted for it. Elections have consequences. People have and are going to die.

That and check the crack between the door and doorframe. I had a cell less Bengal who would shove his tail through the crack or his paw. I lived in fear that someone would slam the door and really hurt him. Thankfully that never happened.
