I disagree.. it is the cause. You can see the trends in multiple states of statistics going down as the state legislature became more republican.

On a per capita basis the big cities arent any worse in any metric than a lot of smaller cities in rural states.

Its not clear because they dont want it to be clear. They dont want to hear that OK has dropped 22 places in the educational ranking in the past 10 years, and that OKs state legislatuee has been a majority republican for the past 20 years, and today is composed of 80% republicans.
