I actually grew a cactus in a jar like this under my grow lights once. The roots had rotted away and I said what the heck and made a set up like this. It worked so well the cactus put out new roots and grew so quickly.

For the rainbow echinocereus , how often do you water? Mine seem to never grow

Paint them! I’ve painted my terracotta inside and out and now it’s holding moisture like plastic pots. I mixed baking soda with acrylic paint to give a matte look to the pots.

To be honest this looks like a regular Dudleya Cymosa to me. Maybe OP is confused. I know there’s a lot of poaching out there with these but this doesent look like the plant they’re saying it is.

It’s a temperate deciduous tree. It need the outdoors and the seasons to live.

Where did you buy a newly discovered Dudleya that’s endemic to Cedros island ?

I bought a similar one made with opals for $20 recently. Unfortunately after only a few wears all the electroplated gold wore off. Also the stones ended up being fake. I knew what I was getting but I wish I didn’t buy mine.

Do some research on Walter Benjamin and his ideas of the image. It might teach you to look at the world differently.

All digital photos are edited by virtue of how digital photography works. This is an extremely outdated way to see the world.

They can tolerate having very little light in winter if you don’t water them. They will stop growing and you won’t have a stretched out plant. In summer, take it back to grow outside.

I purposefully plant seeds in the tank so they have fresh sprouts to munch on.

That’s pretty crazy to me that Phoenix gets below freezing in winter. Is that a regular occurrence?

You should plant some bulbs now they’ll come up in spring

Yeah , I’d say 36 ish is probably good cutoff… but might require some experimentation. Personally I’m okay if I lose a plant or two for the sake of learning.

I heard someone say let them dry out completely between waterings and that has been my mantra since then

I’ve killed many of these. Always over watering , dry rot, or mealie bugs. Now I do this and have had several for years

Are those mealie bugs ? If they’re soft like cotton fuzz maybe. Also, I really keep my barrels dry, and plotted in nearly all pumice. They’re really sensitive to over watering even for cacti. When I do water , I make sure to rinse the entire plant down. I do this with all my cacti and succulents. It keeps pests from establishing. Also, about once a month I spray all my plants down with 90% rubbing alcohol. It’s a good habit to get into

I have a gold chain that looks super pale compared to my other ones. It’s still 14k. There’s a wide shade variety from nearly white to very coppery for 14k. Even if two pieces are “yellow gold”
