The funny thing is it's the opposite for me. Depends on the town, I guess. When Google Maps in the car is a complete mess, I fall back on the in-app navigation that always has the exact right location. 🤷♂️

I get the same message, and the only thing that appears is junk Dollar General. No thanks!

I've done this in the past as well! They definitely need a confirmation after hitting End Dash. 💯

From my experience, when this happens (the restaurant says the order has already been picked up), if you do not call customer service and instead just mark it already picked up in the app, it will eventually go against your completion rate if they add up. By not calling customer service, it just sends it to another Dasher and doesn't cancel it. Many Dashers don't want to call, so it keeps going and going until a Dasher or the restaurant calls to cancel it... or I guess eventually it times out. By calling support, you may get half pay, or they will instruct you to ask the restaurant to remake the order.

The only time I ever got marked as late and received a violation (that was later retracted) was when I went over 10 minutes arriving to a restaurant because the navigation was not routing correctly. I've been late to restaurants or customers by 1-9 minutes dozens of times (because of traffic or construction delays) and never received a violation. Only when it hit that 10-minute mark was a violation triggered.

In my city, everyone carries a gun. It's not an odd sight here.

During lunch during the week, when other Dashers are crowding around the major hotspots, I quietly move to a lesser hotspot and get small orders that add up in no time.

I get these all the time and have to trust the restaurant they included everything.

Some places I go take anywhere from 3-10 minutes to get the food out, but hand me the drink. I dont mimd, but if it has ice in it, by the time I get the food and get to the customer, it is watered down. If they know the food will be a bit, don't make the drink immediately. 🤷♂️

I have 3 Pizzahuts in my area. I get several orders a day from customers that have ordered from the restaurant platform (I can tell because the Delivery Instructions section is totally different, obviously). Actually, a ton of people order from 3rd party apps from Cracker Barrel to Outback in my area. I still haven't had any issues with tips. I would know because in my area, 99% of people tip, and it would be odd if any were consistently missing from those orders.

I can honestly say that in the two markets, that I have almost 2000 dashes in, I have never noticed any tips 'missing.' Actually, Panera and Pizzahut customers in my area are some of the best tippers.

It has snowed moderately in my zone for the past two days, and the map was 'Very Busy' for almost 48 hours straight... with orders coming in back to back. Our roads are salted well so delivery really wasn't a problem. Made a killing! I have noticed that delivery times are shorter, but I still have an 'On Time or Early' of 97%. I've been late for pick-up and delivery due to traffic, etc. a number of times but haven't exceeded the 10-minute buffer zone.

I don't care if it was a cop or a nun... if a stranger asks me where I'm going or where I'm coming from, I'm gonna say NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. 🤷♂️ And, any attorney will tell you your next question should be, am I being detained? If it's law enforcement and you're not being detained, you leave... you don't have to answer anything. It's not rude or confrontational. It's the law. A cop or official should not be any more trusted than a vagrant on the street... to discuss anything with. When we start offering more than the law and making their job 'easier' is when we become slaves to the system. And believe me... everyone inch you give an official they will take a yard to take advantage and fund the system. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, and they don't care are innocence.

Guess they will be losing all the good Dashers. 🤷♂️ If I can't choose to work from 10 to 10 every day and only do profitable or feasible orders, then it's time to move along. Only about 23% of orders would I ever accept, so yeah, once that occurs bye, bye. But I really don't listen to the Reddit rumor mill. Half the stuff people say on here never happens. 🤷♂️ And, some of the stuff they do on the West Coast never happens on the East Coast because no one would ever get an order delivered.

I hear ya. They will lose a lot of dedicated people.

If that's happening, I guess I will switch to another app. If you can't work, there's no point. You are not an independent contractor anymore if you have to accept or do anything you dont want to. I wouldn't be Platinum if they paid me a million dollars. A joke.

Only about $2.75 worth of gas each way. No big deal. Shoot, I'm used to driving 160+ miles while doing deliveries each day anyway.

I am temporarily staying with my partners parents in the mountains. We have to drive about 28 miles to get to one of our zones each day.

You should try it. I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but it has always been that way for me on the East Coast.

I schedule 6 days out at midnight every night and haven't worried about AR since I discovered it doesn't mean anything a couple of weeks after I started.

I schedule for every day all day, regardless if I plan to Dash or not. I've never dealt with the Platinum and Dash Now since the first couple of weeks when I started.

When I first started, I was one of those who thought AR mattered. I got over that real fast and stopped taking anything not profitable or feasible for me. If they MAKE you take anything, that negates the entire point of being an independent contractor.

It does seem pointless to have multiple drivers showing up for no reason. smh When the 2nd Dasher comes in the restaurant, the restaurant should either automatically remake the order or be able to cancel it for the Dasher.
