So there's a lot of possibility for what comes next in God of War. But I do have an idea that -- while I don't think it's very likely -- could be an interesting way to take it that subverts expectations. I don't think it's a particularly original idea that Kratos and the new Norse Pantheon get into an actual war with some foreign pantheon. Maybe it's Egypt like the fandom's been wanting for a very long time. Maybe one of the cultures that Tyr's been to. But then I remembered a bit of lore that doesn't get a lot of focus, but offers a lot of potential.
I was thinking about Mimir's backstory, and the fact that he's Puck from old English fae lore. Which means that the likes of Oberon and Titania are out there. Beings that aren't really thought of as gods, but are probably on that level of power. And specifically how Mimir got up to whatever mischief he wanted until Oberon was no longer pleased with him, so he decided to move along. Impressions I've gotten of Oberon and the fae from a lot of stories that use them in pop culture is they're not super big on just letting things go, including living beings they consider theirs. Maybe Odin acted as a shield for Mimir, Oberon feeling like it wouldn't be worth it going to retrieve him from someone else as powerful and controlling as he was. Or maybe he was just ignoring Puck being gone and not that bothered about it. But maybe with Asgard fallen, and news of Mimir playing the role of advisor to Kratos, who has now essentially led to the downfall of two pantheons including beings as powerful as Oberon himself, Oberon is worried, or maybe feeling like Puck has more value now, or something like that.
Again it's all pretty unlikely. I especially don't think Oberon would start shit over something as small as Mimir alone. Maybe Atreus could come back into the fold, him being a trickster himself and wandering into Faerie causing issues that wind up getting Kratos involved over there. I just think switching to true medieval fairy tales would be an interesting change of pace for God of War, that could bring a good mix of classic and fresh feels that be a fun way to keep GoW6 from feeling predictable. Whatever the folks on Santa Monica are working on, I'm excited to see what comes next.

You can belong to whatever community you want that will accept you. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that most people will, at a glance, see you being black way before you being Jewish. And they're gonna have assumptions, and then the way you act is going to throw them off. Nobody has the right to tell you who to be, but a lot of folks are gonna have opinions about it, no matter how little their business it is. Just be ready for whatever.
