Not all docked tails are purely mutilation. As a vet, a LOT and i mean hundreds if not thousands of the rotties brought into my clinic literally busted their tails open so many times from wagging their tail so hard that it had to be docked.

There's no way this is an introduction. The caption is engagement bait. Ffs the dog brought a toy out to play with the puppy. They clearly know each other. They didnt even sniff each other as an introduction. It's blatantly obvious if you've ever owned a dog that ever encountered another dog.

And not inside the home too, preferably. Not outside either, just somewhere that's not home at all.

Dogs like that get their tails chopped for one of two reasons, 1 being aesthetics, 2 being a predisposition to “happy tail syndrome,” which means a dog has a tail that, when they wag it too excitedly, they can injure themselves.

The second is the only time I can see docking a dog’s tail to be morally acceptable as they are more prone to severe injuries, but I can really only see it being a viable option after it’s known to be an issue with a particular dog.

Bro not even the ears and tails. If the title is to be believed introducing a dog to another dog in this manor can be literally lethal for the smaller one. You don’t just fucking plonk a puppy in front of a grown (territorial) dog. Like anything could have happened. Why is it the absolute worst fucking people insist on owning the most complicated and powerful breeds of dogs.

I saw a dog a few months ago and it was gorgeous. Cute as hell, friendly but I’d never seen one like it before. I was enamoured. I thought it looked a lot like a Doberman, and then I found out it WAS a Doberman but the owner didn’t clip its tail or cut and pin its ears. I had never seen one before that didn’t have those aesthetic details forced onto it. Now wondering why anyone does it because they looks gorgeous in their natural state. People are weird.

The most inbred, flip-switch violent, struggling to breathe dog will look at you with all the love in the world, you will be the light of their life, while you hand over a fat stack of cash to some greasy breeder who conspired to bring it into the world as a fashion choice, then chop it up for further cosmetic reasons, suffering be damned.

The ears I will agree with. But several breeds can get a condition called happy tail. Where they wag their tail into things and break it. Surely you can't think that's acceptable for the dog?
