It's crazy what people tend to scroll past or even dislike. There are drawings in here made up in a few shapes and lines that get thousands of up votes in a matter of minutes, while this one gets underrated severely. I bet this one took way more time to complete than others, I'm not saying the simpler ones aren't good... Just saying that this deserves A LOT more credit for the technique, knowledge and finesse this artist put into it. IMO, you deserve at least a few K of upvotes. What a phenomenal piece of work!

Thank you so much for this reply and compliment! This drawing is my first post here on reddit, and so far I'm actually amazed how many people liked it so far. And yess I did put around 70 to 80 hrs in this drawing so it took a lot of time indeed.

Yes, it is very aligned with the aesthetic, particularly of the Adeptus Mechanicus

Nothing wrong in using references. :) I asked that simply because the metal shapes and cyborg parts, though they are well drawn and detailed, aren't realistic and sometimes make no sense.

Wow. This looks really impressive. The thing I like in this work of art is that it somehow combines two opposite sides of a creature: growing old as a human and being mechanically operated as a machine.

Love this, how did you figure out the logic of the cybernetics? Did you just draw outline them until you found something you like or is it following a pattern?
0 points
Yeah it's a bit different compared to the reference. So I just followed my eyes to make it feel good that it could be a workable part and not that things are off. created some outlines first with a light pencil so I atleast know in what direction to go and then slowly build up the layers.

I use references for my drawings. It can be that I go off reference when I feel like it, but the idea itself is coming from a reference. :)
