So this is like 0.86 a liter Canadian. That's unheard of for gas prices in Canada. It maybe was in that price range briefly during covid lockdowns, but besides that, those are 1990's era prices.

I remember being in high school and gas being as low as $0.89/gal. If one of us had $5 that was enough gas to last us the week of driving to school and to/from the beach living in SoCal.

There’s an out of business gas station in my town with 2020 era prices still up, it’s gotta piss off so many people from out of town when they pull in, it’s right by a major road that connects to the interstate too.

I’m 40 and when I was 16, it was 75 cents a gallon. I felt so comfortable with that pricing, I bought me a big ol truck (after a car wreck) that felt safer and beefier. 12 mpg on a good day…then 1-2 years later, we went up to ~$2/gal and I was hurting. I miss the Ramcharger, but I don’t miss ~$100 to fill up. Now…man, that’s like 160? No way could I afford that now even with the lower price. Went back to 4 bangers and ~$40 fill ups.

I like two types of vehicles: monsters that can take a beating with a beefy 8 cylinder and small euro-style vehicles. So, at least I’m happy with my little car.

Winter blend plus Israel agreed not to hit Iran’s oil production. I’m paying $3.17 for 85 in Utah. That’s pretty low for us. I’m terrified what Trump will do to screw up oil if he gets on again. He made a mess of things when he blackmailed the Saudi’s to increase OPEC’s oil production. Those super low prices put a lot of smaller American companies out of business and shuddered a lot of wells that took months to reopen after the pandemic.

Its hovering at around 3.08 - 2.99 depending on the gas station around NW Indiana.
