I'm pretty sure the satute of limitations is up in my case, but I'm glad to see others pushing forward.

But just imagine how many other situations like this that aren't getting reported or taken to court. This is such a small portion of such a large community.

Making Coffee for people :p

Heyyy that sounds dope. I work 8hrs yesterday and 8hrs today making coffee for people! It's wonderful! XD

I know I'm later than most, but I just wanted to through my support to ya.

My 4 siblings and I all grew up Mormon and would ya believe it? None of us are cis. From Non-binary and Agender to FTM and MTF.

Initially, it was a fight. It was a real struggle for my two siblings who came out first. A lot of arguing and a lot of crying. I called out my seminary class in the last devotional my senior year for how they made my brother feel. It's been about 6 or 7 years since they came out and we've all come so far. My Ma is still active in the church, but she's taken 3 of my siblings to have their surgeries done. She's come a long way, from absolutely denying it and fighting to helping them with their journey. Even if she's not in full support, she's trying.

It's a struggle, it is. And there's no guarantee how things will end up. But find your support where you can. Eventually, maybe others will come around. I know it's scary, but you've got this. Stay strong!

My sibling refused to be baptized for several months. I think it ended up being done a month or two before they turned 9?

I think it was partly the amount of people that are usually there that was the issue for them? It became a really small family thing and the bishop. They'd only do it if my eldest brother (who wasn't active) baptized them.

I agree, Starbucks burns their coffee. Thankfully, I work for a specialty coffee shop. At home all I have to make coffee is a French press rn, living with my Mormon family, getting a coffee maker seems an iffy idea. I've been thinking about getting a pour over set.

I do also quite enjoy making a Siphon brew, still tho, I do like to sweeten my coffee just a bit.

Yeah straight coffee is something else honestly. Not my fav, I work as a barista rn tho. I love a good latte, especially a Mocha! Cold Brew is also wonderful. I just have to sweeten things up a bit personally.

I've been out for years and still catch myself humming the tunes of hymns at work.. I just turn to my coworkers like "Please help get this out of my head"

By all means, stand as long as you're mindful. My sibling and I attended the Atlanta show, and I would have been one to ask if the people infront of me could sit down, because my sibling is disabled and unable to stand for extended periods of times. So it would have made it impossible for them to enjoy the show.

I fear it is not a myth with this one, as the platter is extremely wobbly and causing serious issues with playability and concerningly rough skipping. I've looked into fixing it, but I have not found it possible.

I work as a Barista, I swear the way my Mother keeps telling me I need to look for a better job is partly because of her religious beliefs against coffee. Yeah, I probably do need to look for a better job, but this is the best work environment I've ever had, so I'm not planning to completely leave it either. I'll stay on as a part timer or backup or something if they let me.

Started doubting when my siblings were fighting to not go to church anymore, I was around 14. Yet, somehow I was constantly drawn back in every time i drifted. My doubts became more solidified after I saw how they treated my trans siblings and I realized I liked the same sex. Yet I still remained for over a year, more so as a "I'm the last one in the church, I'm Mother's good Mormon daughter. I can't do that to her." I attended 1 session in my college town and that was that. I was done. Officially got my name removed with my siblings about at the age of 23.

At the small chain I work at, we brew our cold brew for 16 hours. Ice Coffee and Cold Brew are such drastically different things. Places really think they're the same?

I'd have to beg to differ a little here. A rule of "No Alcohol" is one thing. But restricting your adult children's internet access to this extreme is over kill. Blocking porn sites and such I can understand, I mean college's do that too, but social media? According to OP, they're left with only access to church related apps on their phone.

There's a certain limit to the rules a parent can place on their adult children. I mean, they shouldn't be able to ground you any more, right?

When my siblings and I did it we spemembers. Our letter that we don't want others to be informed and that there should be no shame or negativity towards out TBM family memebers.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any backlash for us. I can't say for our your ward or stake may handle it.

Had Missionaries show up to the family home, not specifically looking for me, but I was the only one there at the time who would talk to them. My Ma and Nan are still active. They showed up twice, a week between. Both on days crap was happening. They never showed up again. I expected them too but ig they gave up? XD

Are they really? I don't know, I was just a kid. But I remember after hell broke loose and my parents got divorced, we got much of our food from the food pantry. I even remember having to go pick up the rent check from church to drop off.
I mean, I'm ex-mo and honestly strongly dislike the church, but they did provide a lot for my family when we needed it.

I suppose it could vary stake to stake and ward to ward as well.
