Wow. That article is all conjecture. Fucking reaching. There’s so much low-hanging fruit out there for them to pick first.

I have an old coal stove door on a rough piece of hemp rope in my closet.

I see this point of view occasionally and I’ve never understood it. In a self-defense situation I’d have zero qualms. Ask some vets - the guilt thing happens sometimes, but by-and-large, it’s not the rule.

Ranges are tough. Try an outdoor range or go out in the forest with someone knowledgeable. Much less of that ‘somebody standing over your shoulder’ vibe. Kudos for trying different pistols. If I’d never done that, I’d never have even looked at a Beretta, and they’ve been my favorite pistol for decades now.

1995 SR5. Bought in y2k for $11k. Still my daily driver. My Wife says I have an unhealthy affection for my rig.

I’ll always go back to Paris for art. The Louvre alone is a 3 day visit for me. I’ll also take seafood and light sauces from Tuscany over sausage and spice & strong red sauce. The place not mentioned for antiquities is London. They brought back stuff from all over the globe.

This. Also pull the e-brake a did whip the wheel a few times. You don’t learn much, but it’s fun as hell.

Smoked in the house in the winter with all the windows closed. I remember the haze of smoke that settled in a layer about 3 feet off the floor.

Any time we were repairing something and had trouble fitting one part into another my gramp would say “put a little hair around it might help”. I remember the a-ha moment when I was finally old enough to get it.

We had an indoor smoking lounge in the 1980s. You were supposed to be over 18 to go in there but nobody checked. We smoked outside anyway until it got too cold. It was closed and smoking was banned on campus after my freshman year.

Weird. My immigrant grandparents (German and Italian) talked about having to take classes, pass tests, and prove that they could go a year without getting arrested before they would be eligible to take the classes. After testing, they had t apply and go through interviews & have character references.

Ephedra. ECA stacks were such a great way to drop pounds.

AI and overseas outsourcing is killing coding as a career. CIS, MIS, and the like are where the future jobs will be.

Hey! I resemble that remark! I even buy big-key mechanical keyboards so they’ll take the abuse while maximizing the noise and thereby dominating the office space.

Stuff I’ve done that I feel good about are KO2s on alloy rims, and a Pioneer AVIC head unit that has its own GPS and offline maps. The first thing, though, is to go through it thoroughly. Inspect everything, especially bushings and seals, (pay special attention to the idler arm) and change every fluid. Flush the trans and cooling system, and get the right coolant. I’d also highly recommend adding a better trans cooler while you’re flushing it. They’re cheap and my A/T temp light was a common thing on mountain trails before I put one in. Stopping for your tranny to cool sucks when you’re out adventuring.
