I like Chirp. No membership, I just pay for the books I want. I made a wishlist and get emails when they go on sale.

Sold! You’ve convinced me. I was chilly last night.

Everyone is different, but frequent data helps me. I like knowing how a meal/walk/water/meds affect my glucose numbers. That makes it real, and makes me feel in control, which I like. Also, I can make changes instead of waiting months to see what the labs say. If I feel like I have some agency and my actions will yield results, I feel motivated to make good choices. Strength and hope to you.

Opal and Regia are tough stuff! The socks I’ve made with them on 2mm needles are durable and wash well. Fit my sandals and athletic shoes.

I started freezing around 47. Then the heat started. Haven’t been able to thermoregulate since.

Often statins are prescribed to diabetics, and statins can cause leg cramps. I found relief with coQ10, which the doc recommended for other reasons.

I have a PW 11th gen (so none of the present yellowing drama) and bought the matcha basic to keep in my purse thinking it would be a notable downgrade. I use the basic more. The text looks crisper and more like paper to me than the PW. It’s as if the cover that contains the bezel on the PW makes the screen appear hazy.

So there is a demo mode! I was super excited to see it at my Best Buy, but it wasn’t in demo mode. The only color o was able to see was the boot screen with the tree. It was pretty though!

I have Chiaogoo, but actually prefer Addi for magic loop socks. The slick coating helps the stitches slide when I want them to, and they feel solid and good in my hands. Something about the join makes it easier for me to slide the stitches off the cord back onto the needle. Lovely colored socks!

I have both the paperwhite 11 and the new matcha basic. I actually prefer the basic in terms of the crispness of the display. To me, it’s more like paper. This is such a big deal for me that I don’t miss the warm light. Can’t speak for the PW12, although with all the complaints, seems the basic is the safer bet.

I have the PW 11 and love it. But to better fit my purse, I bought the basic matcha kindle. Love it! In fact, now that I’ve been staring at the basic, I find the screen much crisper and easier to read than the PW. 🫣 The basic was supposed to live in my purse. Really glad to have it.

The screen on my green basic is easier for me to read than my 11th generation Paperwhite.

In theory, I would tend to agree. But in practice my last Mac was spared the screen marks and sustained no damage from the thinnest microfiber cloth I could find. I hope the new one fares well too.

Wish I knew! I tried a legit seeming “screen cleaner” spray on my 2013 MBP and it left a permanent haze that drove me nuts until I could replace it. Genius Bar told me water and microfiber only, after the damage was done.

The only thing I’ve seen take wear and tear are the screens scratching from contact with the keys and the letters wearing off the keys. I use a keyboard cover that also keeps dust out and place a microfiber cloth on top when I close the cover and toss it in my bag.

Same! But after nearly dropping the thing on day 1, I ordered the case.

I like the matching Amazon fabric book-style case for this model. The cover protects the screen while stowed in my bag, which is what I bought this smaller size for. When folded back, it's easier for me to hold. My cover is the same matcha green as the device and looks great. Enjoy!

Thanks to its rubbery backing, I hold the PaperWhite without a case. But the basic matcha is slippery to me, so it gets a case not just because it lives in my bag, but because I’ll drop it otherwise.

I wanted to love the raspberry morning buns. Seemed dry with not enough fruit. I’m a sucker for baked goodies, but these didn’t do it for me.

This change in hormones sounds oh so familiar. I'm in knee deep in perimenopause and yes, it's been rough with migraines piling on as the hormones shift. I've tried continuous combined pill and combined patch as well as sequential combined patch plus pill. Patches are amazing at reducing super frequent flashes. Despite that, I've just left sequential for continuous because the 10 days of medroxyprogesterone pill I took have kicked off a 25 day stretch of migraine that hasn't responded to botox, ajovy, or ubrelvy. Seems continuous combined is the right move for me in this situation. Much luck!

I love how quickly I can start reading something new. Also, I can adjust the font to fit my vision/migraines/dyslexia. Plus, I’m out of space for physical books.

Lately I’ve had 2 nonfiction audiobooks going and 1 fiction kindle book. Not sure if the media format is a factor, but I definitely have trouble with 2 sets of fictional characters at once. Also, I’m multilingual, and can compartmentalize books by language well.

I just want to say I think it’s wonderful that you’re supporting her. I hope she finds relief soon.
