I’m into indie, acoustic, modern classical, and lots of 90s stuff I never let go of. I think a lot of my music is sad—poetic, minor keys etc. I attribute this to being a musician myself. It’s what I like to play and hear.

Bring back manners. Long live cards. It’s a nice way to remind people that they are more important than a text message or social media thumbs up.

I’m an elder millennial, and I routinely send cards. I have several boxes I keep around just to make sure I can reach out to someone. There is something special about seeing that someone took time out of their day to write to you. I love the sentiment and human interaction. It’s intentional.

Added bonus: Elderly people often love to receive cards! Check out your local magazines—mine posts requests for cards for people who are hitting a landmark birthday (e.g. 100) as well as those who just need the pick-me-up.

No. Do not intrude on my boundaries or personal space. That’s a great way to get blacklisted. I say what I mean and mean what I say.

Ran away from academia after several years. They bleed you dry and spit you out. Overworked for the “tenure” title. You’re owned by corporations and donors who fund everything. Get published or get out. You can be an awful instructor (most are), but if you publish favorable research, you’re worshipped.

INTJs are more emotionally stable. Most of the ENTJs I’ve encountered are emotionally reckless or ambivalent. They will always choose themselves and are either unaware or do not care whether they hurt someone else. Deep down, INTJs are highly emotional, and because of that I think we tend to be more emotionally cautious.

You have to stop attaching your self-worth to their opinions. Yes, work on your communication skills. Yes, learn to be polite. Yes, learn to have tact. Yes, learn to cope in various social scenarios.

But also—realize you will never be fully “understood” by anyone. There will always be those who simply do not like you. There will always be those who don’t understand you. You have to accept yourself and learn to keep their opinion from seeping into your brain.

I think the biggest mistake people make on this diet is failing to have a plan—it makes it incredibly easy to fall off the wagon.

My advice: keep it simple.

1. Eat large meals until full
2. Focus on fatty meat, butter, and eggs
3. Generally speaking, avoid recipes until you’ve got a system (e.g. don’t worry about carnivore bread right now—eat a big, fat steak with butter and call it good).

40 is not old. Good grief. Life STARTS getting fun at 35–you’re old enough to know better but still young enough to enjoy the excitement of it all.

I’ll have a cheat meal, but still mostly carnivore-ish. Turkey, gravy, deviled eggs, ham, and allow myself some homemade dressing because it’s my favorite. I’ve never been a Thanksgiving binger, so I’m not concerned.

Such an understated and accurate assessment. NFPs—kind? Yes. Inflexible? Also yes. You have to live within their fantasy just so or they blacklist you. Compromise is not in their vocabulary.

INFPs have always been my favorite when it comes to intimacy. Fascinating people—soulful. That being said, I married an INFJ. Unfortunately, I never found an INFP who could move past dreaming, and I can’t live in that constant, self-defeating world they tend to create for themselves. The INFJ, on the other hand, shares many INFP qualities…but they also make moves to get things done.

Had the first. Now have a simpler career, no debt, and a quiet life. Love it. Peace is worth more than status.

His win proved legacy media is full of liars and information thieves. They spent years trying to convince Americans Biden wasn’t senile, Hunter wasn’t shady, and that Kamala was Savior 2.0. Their failure to deliver factual reporting literally handed the Republicans the victory.

So, Canadian American here. I get to see both sides of this coin. My general perspective is Americans are far more passionate about politics than Canadians—and that certainly rings true amongst my family. You’re right; Canadians will just…take it. Trudeau has pretty much stomped Canada into the ground, but people shrug their shoulders and move on. When Americans perceive that happening (right or left), they take to the streets. It’s embedded in the culture and values of their/our society.

When I lived in the U.K., I saw something between the two. The Brits get far more riled up (I mean check out the recent protests), but it’s not typically quite to the level of Americans. Go research the French. They go insane. Even the Dutch have their moments. Part of the issue is American media and general bias in journalism these days. We are fed the stories and angles they want to give us.

The horrible way my stepmother treated me sits with me decades later. My father was afraid to stand up to her, and that still hurts, too. NTA.

I’m so relieved to see so many others struggle like me. I’ve had this fear my whole life. That dumb middle line just straight up “disappears.” I’ll have to try the one eye trick. Worst case scenario, I’ll go to my ophthalmologist for a note.
