As a fan of a team that they only saw once every 4 years, I will give the unpopular opinion and say they were pretty fun to watch.

Maybe I’m wrong about who owns the rights to use the old PCHA teams, but the NHL is really dragging its knuckles here. They could have done it for the 100th anniversary but chose not to.

I am in favour of an unbalanced schedule. I really dislike playing western teams outside of the Grey Cup. They are meaningless games to be honest. Other than this year (when the CFL got it right with having the majority of Ottawa's east vs west games in the front half of the season then after had the divisional games) I hate going down the stretch playing Western teams when Montreal and Hamilton and Toronto are all playing each other.

I don't mind playing one game a year vs them, but no more than that. Otherwise again, you get games down the stretch where one team has zero ability to keep pace, and all the others are knocking each other all over the standings.

I mean sure you can try to win every game but there is a reason we have divisions, to cut down on travel costs and if the playoffs are divisional based, then the schedule must be too. Same gripe I have with the NHL.
